Inspired by the iconic tradition of the sample pack, the Source Folder series seeks to explore the diversity of interpretations, paths and offsprings that might emerge from a common resource. In each installment, a member of the Global URL Nation provides a sample pack from which other artists are invited to create a new track. 

To initiate the series, we are honored to welcome SNKLS, a French producer blending rich sound designs, intricate drum patterns and synthetic curiosities into unique entities at the crossroads of genres and labels. 

For his participation, he curated not one, but two packs of sounds, made from a selection of Eurorack modules such as Rings, Morphagene or DPO, providing a set of tools, materials and supplies for others to appropriate, upcycle, reuse and combine in order to create their own item. 

The 127 Pack edition gathers artists César Ch, Cosmic Caz, EURROPE, King Demitri, Lukann, migu, T.U., VIO_L3T, & xato. From soothing soundscapes to ominous saturated hits, the different tracks draw the contours of a peculiar environment, a garden of synthetic singularities and beauties to be observed, appreciated and get lost into.

An ode to failure!

Departing from the image of the genius artists, the Hit&Miss compilation wants to show the hidden parts of creation, by embracing missteps and abandonment as a natural part of any artistic journey. 

Open to all members of the Global URL Nation, it proposed a new home for projects that couldn't find a place to exist otherwise, due to artistic (self-)exigency, technical problems, bad timing or any other reason often unknown to the general public. 

With more than 20 artists from a broad range of styles, experience and locations, it gathers unfinished projects such as aborted WIP, forgotten drafts, lost files, unconvincing demos, compulsive emotional bursts or technical experimentations. 

With all its flaws and raw cuts, Hit&Miss asserts the strength of trial and error, and cherishes the impossibility to develop an idea into a finished object as a learning process towards one's growth.

This is about a boy from West Seattle. We'd spent a day and a half on 10 grams of shrooms prior to my move to nyc the next day. We'd been chatting on sniffies on and off for about a year before meeting. He said "I know you call me daddy, but do you actually want to be my boy? Not just called my boy." after dragging me back to his place to continue the day into the next. 

I said yes. Seems he ghosted me in the end. I knew better, but I did it anyway.

I identify as neurodivergent, and my RAADS-R preview scores show greater than 140. Evaluation ultimately means disability as far as immigrations concerned if you wish to leave, and not something I'm sure I want given my skill spikes enabling me to possibly do so.

I've read several books on human behavior and studied at a drama school. I am very high masking, and typically I can't read people when they say, "Let's meet for coffee sometime," which actually means they don't want to meet for coffee.

Most of the time, people misinterpret my intentions. Partly because I put my foot in my mouth trying to be transparent. 

For those who aren't aware of poly-queer sexual relationships, that's not something you typically ask on a first handshake. It's not a marriage proposal or a traditional relationship, but a different kind of bond.

I had just gotten out of a ten-year relationship a bit over year ago now and hadn't had any encounters outside of anonymous fun at a glory hole or anonymous hookups—partly due to my inability to connect with people following an assault.

I felt emotionally violated. I'd disconnected from those types of connections because I haven't been able to bear it. For those of you that have done psychedelics' you understand why this hit so hard in the gut. I hadn't made any FWB connections in a while. Just randoms. 

I had to let it out in a track. 

What's the point of dropping your guard, dissolving your ego, and finding peace for a moment with another person; if ultimately we run from any connection because it feels too deep too quickly? Even when you've been avoiding it.

If we all had telepathy, and could instantly understand one another wouldn't love be at first sight? And if so, what type of love? I point to the Japanese description offering levels, but ultimately it's a definition too complex and unique to each individual in meaning that even just the word itself lacks the dimensionality of expression of what it is. Each persons definition and meaning also has levels of expression, and ways they express it dependent on the person and relationship. 

I spent ten years with someone whose dreams I supported, but they did not approve of mine. They were hoping I'd grow out of music and producing live events. I don't think you ever truly know someone; you just have to find someone with a set of patterns that might align with yours over a decent period and hope it lasts.

I hope anyone who's ever experienced something like this can really feel it come through in the second half of the track—about making a connection and missing the mark—like two kick drums as heartbeats out of sync.
