Noise Assignment

Midi and Audio

In this project I used different and contradictory sounds to narrate the story of a Latin man that lives in north america and how he is overwhelmed by the culture he finds there. So in a homesick feeling he tries to evoke the music from his infancy but then he is disturbed by this unnatural sounds that comes from this new electronic music, nevertheless he tries to combine this new music with his Latin hereditary music. The listener should feel the different sounds against each other as an melancholic oxymoron that resolves in a rare combination of both types of sounds.

For this project I mainly used midi, synthesized audio, my Casio piano, some creative commons sounds I found at Freesound.org and obviously my DAW.

-The raining ambient, percussion and music box at the beginning.

This piece should be listened in a concert hall as a part of a theater play.

Apologies for some inconsistency in the rhythm of the last part.
