Since developing an early love for electronic music and the scene it inhabits in Eastern Europe, Alex has crafted his very own signature sound and earned himself the respect of punters and professionals alike in his local underground scene. 
Armed with a number of credible supporting performances and a local residency with the Tok'kotechno group, it's about time you got acquainted with the dynamic sounds of Volar.

Emerging from Australia’s revilatized minimal scene, @Elia-unic is part of a new wave of DJ/ producer’s who are beginning to make their mark on Sydney’s underground landscape. 

Co-founder of the internationally renowned brand @unic-records, he’s been responsible for injecting new life into Australia’s minimalist community and connecting it with likeminded artists in Europe and abroad. His impressive mix discography has seen him curate for the likes of Feeder.ro, Minimmal Movement and Mantra Collectives ‘Black Gold’ series, as he blends dub & minimally skewed house and techno flavored into a singular wave of hypnotic sound. 

Currently hard at work perfecting a signature style in his studio, keep a close ear on Elia as he prepares to leave a deep impression on the underground scene.

Founded in early 2018, the Ukraine born duo have crafted their own experimental flavor comprising of soft-groove & plastic sounds that are as enigmatic as they are tantalizing.

Young northern beaches local Nick Albert aka @nalbsy has been biding his time in discovering his own sound, after experimenting from polar opposite ends of the minimal spectrum, he emulates his sound to be a textbook blend of house and minimal. Continually looking to better his arsenal of tunes he scouts daily, whether it be scouring through the archives of soundeo or adding to his record collection Nalbs is a sucker for new music. 

Founding member of Peculiar, Sydney’s newest events and podcasting platform, along with two other friends, they have been able to play their part in promoting favoured artists from around the globe whilst furthering their own musical knowledge and passion. The boys have recently launched the first of many of their ‘Peculiar presents’ event series, starting with a strong booking of Sydney perfectionist, Sun Archive. With a host of things planned for the summertime, the lads are looking forward to the future.

23 year old Dan Hopkins (@Hanndmusic) has been producing tracks since the age of 16 with a variety of styles that he has taken influence from. 
Growing up in London taught him to have an open-mind to music and to experience the culture for its variety and rapid progression. 

Taking influences from the UK Dubstep and Bass scene Dan really found a love for House and Techno as his productions developed, moving towards the faster 4x4 tempos and experimenting with the genres of music surrounding it. Dan’s first release under the Hannd alias landed on label Raw Paper Records in 2017, with the EP title “U’4u”, a moody, fast and distorted combination of Lo-Fi, Techno and Minimal House Music.

Progressing from that EP Dan ‘Hannd’ Hopkins, is continuing to refine his sound with a recent string of free downloads featured on his Soundcloud page and some promising works and news forthcoming for the artist.

@TysonBruun has established himself as a cornerstone of the blossoming Sydney scene, bringing forth his unique style of deep house, tech and minimal grooves laced with soothing pads and rhythmic percussion. In recent years, Tyson has found his niche; developing a link between Sydney and scenes around the world with his own Australian based artist collective, vinyl-only record label, podcast and event series - Lokomotiv.

His unique sound has earnt him regular slots at all major Sydney events, including; S*A*S*H, Mantra Collective, Bare Essentials and Subsonic Music Festival. Most recently, Tyson holds a monthly residency at SLYFOX, hosting international DJs in collaboration with Pepperpot’s brand Hello.

Alexey Penkin is a young, talented musician and DJ. resident of the label "Baunty Records" (Berlin, Germany), online radio NEFORMAT and SOULLIVEFM! He began his journey in 2008, shaping his musical taste in different genre stylistics, gradually finding its sound. In the podcast you can hear both deep house/techno sound and experimental work.
Without dividing musical genres into styles and formats, it delights listeners with its individual and diverse flavor.

Jackson Winter sits all too comfortably in the groove of underground sound, finding his niche since relocating to Sydney in mid 2015. Quietly working his way into the scene and using every opportunity to learn from the best, he served as a lieutenant to infamous late night haunts SlyFox and S.A.S.H., subsequently becoming an integral part of rising brand Conspiracy: a raucous crew of creatives upturning the convention of an underground dance label.

Winter's knack for selecting the perfect sound for the key time comes from a penchant for outdoor shindigs and years of experience behind the decks across Sydney, SE QLD & Portugal.

Having featured at festivals such as Subsonic, Rabbits Eat Lettuce & Mountain Sounds, plus regular appearances around Sydney, he has warmed the floor for the likes of Sakro, Alexkid, Black Loops, Mayan Nidaam & many more.

With His first release on We R House ‘Salata’ and forthcoming releases Signatune Records as well as a stacked schedule of local support sets on the Sydney scene, it's evident that Dimitri Sinesiou will be one to watch in 2019.

Originally from Italy, Jacopo Lancioni has found in Sydney an outlet to explore a much more underground, conceptual side of his work which covers far more than music - earning the respect of his peers alike and most recently, a permanent residency. 

With an undeniably keen ear for the stripped-back and relentless side of house and fast-paced minimal funk, Yokobus has rapidly emerged as an exciting new prospect within the Sydney underground scene. 

Responsible for the Halftone podcast series and all things party-related at ZRHQ, Jacopo kicks off the 15th mixtape with his new original 'Cosmic Blues' forthcoming on Conspiracy VA - Sydney's underground party crew and record label founded by a crew of like-minded creatives including Jacopo himself.

We are buzzing to welcome the house lord Marley Sherman to the Halftone family.

Delving deep into Sydney's underground soundscapes for the last 4 years, Sherman has quickly gained momentum among punters and promoters alike for his tasteful selections and versatility from warm up to closing. Swiftly ticking the boxes on all the mainstay events - S*A*S*H, Lost Paradise, Mantra Collective, Chinese Laundry, WeLove.. GoodBar, SLYFOX, (and the list continues) while warming up luminaries along the lines of; Daniel Bell, Djebali, Dana Ruh, Delano Smith, Ferro, Malin Genie, Sonja Moonear (and the list continues) Marley has cemented himself as one of Sydney's pillars from Friday to Sunday as well as Tuesday till Friday in the S*A*S*H office. His first mix for 2019 features mostly new records & is split into 2 parts covering a range of sounds from his collection; in short, a snapshot of where he's been & where he's going.

Introducing @sudexro to our Halftone podcast Series.
During his youth, he listened to mostly classic Hip-Hop (1997 - 2002), afterward began to frequent the Romanian Space Club & UK Fabric. 
The major call for electronic music in terms of DJing and Production came at the age of 30, in 2012 when he first attended a DJing course followed by a Production one at Subbass DJ Academy in London. One year later, CK won 3 DJ competitions in a row: EDC London, Movida Corona UK & Amnesia Ibiza DJ Challenge and also had his first EP released - Back from SubBass. 
He releases music on various labels, including Wiggle & Be Color and also owns a podcast platform called DEEP MVMT.
