Hello together,
we are Jürgen Graf and Christian Nainggolan.
Together we are YOKTO. Both of us have a long standing interest in electronic music in general and electronic dance music in particular. The studio of YOKTO is sited in my home in the countryside close to the french border in Saarland (Germany). We meet up regularly on Fridays in order to get our tracks done and having a good time.
The geographic location of the studio has advantages for us. On the one hand, we can fully concentrate on our work and are not distracted. On the other hand, we enjoy the culinarily delicacies from our french neighbors, like wine, oil, cheese and baguette, before leaving the kitchen and going to the studio, beginning with our recording sessions.
Having a good mood in the studio is something really essential for us. The reason for this is due to the fact, that we create music using our brains, our souls and our backsides. And these organs are exactly what we want to put in resonance with our audience.
Sometimes we play music in small- and mid-sized clubs. The grass roots of our work is House Music and all its manifold derivatives. This is fundamental for our work in the studio and also for our appearence in the club. If we have the chance to present our musical vision the whole night, we are pleased to begin the night playing experimental music or ambient and then draw an arc which incorporates the various styles of House. Of course, we always have an eye on the crowd on the dancefloor in order to maximize the fun for both. It is very important for us, being state-o-the-art when it comes to our track selection, despite playing seminal tracks from the past.

we are Jürgen Graf and Christian Nainggolan.
Both of us have a long standing interest in electronic music in general and electronic dance music in particular. YOKTO tracks are solo creations by myself and some tracks have been done in cooperation with Christian. The studio of YOKTO is sited in my home in the countryside close to the french border in Saarland (Germany).
The first YOKTO EP released on Compost Black can be described as „modern house with vintage attitude!“.
Our second EP released on Lossless was more like "psychedelic, modern house with a touch of class!".
Now, it's on you to describe our third release on Compost Black ;) We find it sounds like "raw, romantic house to the border of techno!".

In the world of astronomy Ceres, Pallas and Chiron are important celestial bodies, each decorated  with certain meanings. Ceres is known as the "Provider of Love and Comfort“, Pallas stands for "The Weaver of Pattern“ and Chiron goes by "The Planet Of Healing“. By reading this you have probably already got a feeling how YOKTO, who has already had remarkable releases on quality imprints like Lossless or Compost, is a producer with a love for detail and perfectly rounded-up musical concepts. You can hear this love for detail in every title on his "Chiron Signs EP“, his debut on Connaisseur Recordings. 

The opening track "Ceres - Provider Of Love and Comfort“ has a positive, almost uplifting feeling with its beautiful strings and its hypnotic flow, interrupted only by an unconventional break. Next up is the electro tune "Pallas - The Weaver of Pattern“ where the title already says its all. A pattern-driven state-of-the-art track, both modern and timeless. The last track of the EP is "Chiron - The Planet Of Healing“, probably the highlight of this release for many. It starts with a meditative atmosphere but builds up in an almost catchy way that comes completely unexpected.

YOKTO is back on Connaisseur, taking us on a geological excursion this time. „The Theory of Ore“ attempts to musically explain how various types of mineral deposits develop in the earth’s crust. As already with his debut release on Connaisseur „Chiron Signs“, the Saarland-based artist takes us on a deep journey, while managing to keep a perfect balance between an absolutely modern and a timeless style approach.

With its shimmering and powerful synths and the demanding cow bells, the release opener „Gabbro“ captures your imagination right from the start. Combined with the rock-solid electro inspired drumming, this tune is a state-of-the-art production.

„Obsidian“ is a rather timeless, almost meditative deep house variation. Trippy sound sprinkles buzz around the stoic but hypnotizing groove, until it gets wrapped up in a warm blanket of classy chords. Afterparty calling! 

„Bims“, the German word for Pumice, is a real lightweight. An airy but intense ambient track where YOKTO probes the field of tension between meditative synths and deep basses.
