A respected name within the progressive house fraternity, Forerunners makes a welcome return to Meanwhile with his first full release in the shape of the "Ancient Methods" EP.

Operating out of his Arizona home, Brenden LaBonte has consistently found himself at the forefront of a distinctive underground house sound with his Forerunners soubriquet. An advocate of the quality over quantity' maxim and a sound that is full of maturity and quality, the US artist has seen his music allied to a plethora of high-profile imprints that include Anjunadeep, Silk Music, and Black Hole Recordings.

Now returning to GMJ and Matter's flagship imprint after a spell-binding interpretation of Mike Isai's "Home" in July 2021, Meanwhile's 21st release sees Forerunners open his "Ancient Methods" EP with the mesmerising title track. Full of melodic poise and rhythmic interplay, a driving beat and tight off-beat percussion heralds a dynamic opening before a mechanic bassline and syncopated groove create the foundation for delicate motifs to lilt their way across the 8-minute track with ease. Delay-infused effects and pitched synth add to the aural atmosphere at the breakdown as a sustained pad holds sway throughout to create a subtle tension and hypnotic vibe.

The complex rhythmic foundation that infuses the oxymoronic "Light in the Darkness" is a powerful forerunner for the deep melodic melange to follow. As running bassline and swirling effects build, a dizzying breakdown of looped arpeggio provides sonic intrigue and bright, uplifting zenith. Exploding into the third movement, an hypnotic melody sits against oppressive bass and rhythm to create a magical track.

Continuing the dark rhythmic narrative of its predecessors, "Valis" provides another sonic tapestry filled with texture and innovation. Beneath a ticking percussive groove and chest-thumping kick, an effects-laden and pitched oscillator bassline reveal themselves across the 6-minute offering as a mesmerising arp creates a powerful melodic presence in the mid-range. Science-fiction inspired effects that the Future Sound of London would be proud of, infuse the breakdown as the second half drops into the huge bass-heavy underpinning once more.

Redolent in modern and innovative production technique and a cutting-edge sound, Forerunners brings a scintillating new approach to "Ancient Methods".

Good day everyone, and welcome along to another high flying exclusive PFG Progcast.. taking you in style around Planet Progressive!

Today see's us revisit possibly our favourite spot on the map, Argentina! A go to destination for clubbers and the world best DJs, our act today is another hot talent off the seemingly endless flow from La Plata BA. As the world re-opens we're sure you will love what you hear from this man,  and we're sure you are gonna want more too... Give it up for Franco Tejedor!!

Franco was born in Patagonia, and originally found the love for music in the techno pop of the 80s, and those early house music records. As a teenager he started to dabble in the music scene as a music programmer for radio shows, then took on a growing role as a DJ at parties. These early moves saw him gain a weekly residency at his hometown club.

In the year 2000 he moved to the city of Buenos Aires to purify and discover the sound that really represents him, Progressive House! And the way he finds to achieve this, is through his music production. His productions have gained high acclaim far and wide across the progressive house spectrum releasing records on respected labels. 
Franco has received feedback for his music from prestigious DJs and producers around the world. His productions are characterised by subtle, harmonic sounds, anchored by a rich percussive base and a deep bassline.
He currently produces the following podcasts: A weekly one called WEEKEND SESSIONS on Sono Stream Radio, broadcast every Saturday at midnight (Argentina)(www.sonopoprock.com.ar) and two monthly ones called Progressive Heaven on GammaWave Radio(UK)broadcasted the second Saturday of every month at 8pm (UK)(www.gammawave.club)and Virtual Gravity on Quantum Radio FM (London)the second Monday of every month at 8pm(UK)(www.quantumradiofm.com)

Hello Everyone, welcome to Wednesday, time to continue our non stop search for those perfect progressive vibes.. all aboard the PFG Progcast! Our mini tour of the States continues apace, and as we leave Miami and head west, another hot destination calls us, California! With a sound that is hypnotic, dark and euphoric, D.J. MacIntyre is a champion of progressive electronic music in its varied forms. His musical art is the synthesis of life experiences gathered during explorations of philosophy, Indian mythology and.... winemaking! 

Synthesising musical elements is what lies at the heart of Macintyre's DJ sets, and not only are these sets borderless in scope but so too are his productions. 

As a producer and remixer he often incorporates various influences and stylistic blueprints and has, in a relatively short period, produced a substantial body of work that is only gaining momentum with time. The debut album, “Tandava," planted his flag in the electronic music landscape. Well-traveled as a DJ, the Santa Barbara resident has performed worldwide: from Burning Man to Moscow, Playa del Carmen to Siberia. Malta to Amsterdam, and all across the United States, including New York, Dallas, Oakland and Los Angeles. He is as equally at home in a dark basement club as in an open-air festival.

D.J. MacIntyre also wears the hat of record label founder, having formed the boutique label SLC-6 Music with the mission of building artistic community through the release of top quality music from producers he meets on his journey.
