After 2 decades spent building an enviable reputation for himself in the clubs of Puerto Rico, Yon Teejda has become a local & international concern. His infectious charisma and versatility behind the decks has led him to invitations for three consecutive years at The BPM Festival in Mexico & Portugal's first edition as an official headliner, has played at the two editions of Movement Getaway Festival, two times at the Electric Daisy Carnival Puerto Rico & 2016 We The Future Festival. He has shared stage with the biggest names in the international underground circuit with artists such as: Stacey Pullen, Green Velvet, Damian Lazarus, Art Department, Tale Of Us, Âme, just to name a few.
With teenage years spent savouring the hi-fi jams of late ‘90s, it was actually the immersive grooves and stripped-back drum patterns of another emerging genre–Drum & Bass–with which he first made a name for himself.
Years later his exquisite sets as a resident for Bacco Lounge showed him honing in on a notably sophisticated approach, it was his weekday slot that brought his ability to ignite any
party, presenting experimental techno, narcotic acid cuts, and saturated nu-disco with an energy that has made him what he is today in electronic music culture.
A move from San Juan to New York City would not only enhance his international standing, but also extend beyond traditional dance music formats. Yon Teejda thrives in the studio with his duo project Cabalist. He has a defined, heavily emotive sound that as a dj brings both house & techno together in a smooth but highly dynamic way, with deep chords for the soul, basslines for the heart, big kicks for the guys & sexy claps for the ladies. When this talented skilled artist is not behind the deck or making music he’s running his own bookings, events & logistics company MODUS.
