The song "Goddess" was written in 2019 in a studio behind the midi keyboard while discovering new sounds. The idea for it was to create something in which the listener could experience unusual way of music-making. It was more of an experimental project that turned out to be one of the best songs YORA has ever written so far. At least that's what she claims. 

If you listen carefully, you can hear panning from one ear to another in chorus - "This is what makes this song unique and interesting to listen to besides the lyrics". The favourite part in songwriting for YORA is the lyrics. A well written song can embody all emotions of the human existence and having ambiguous/metaphorical phrases leaves it open for the audience to translate the song the way they hear it. 

The overall message of "Goddess" is that every person has their inner god(dess) who knows the way out of the dark times - no one besides you knows it better how to live your life and it is up to you to find the courage to live so.

"Living dead" is a song from upcoming EP "bedroom (ob)session". The whole EP is inspired by the summer 2021 when I lived in Rome. The whole album was mostly recorded in my bedroom with modest equipment ihihi

If when you hear about the artist Billie Eilish you imagine a young pop queen singing her heart out through relatable songs strongly connected to the mental states of mind, think again. YORA is dynamic, gripping, and upbeat, while her music is a soulful combination of  emotional, experimental sounds and empathetic songwriting. 

When asked why she never writes a song about a typical youth people partying around, YORA says “Usually typical things in life, like grandparents or having the freedom of doing anything, are something we forget to value but these are the topics which obviously play the most important roles in our lives - my mission here is to seek beautifulness in smaller aspects in life.” YORA’s belief is that a well written song can embody all emotions of the human existence, and brings it into the open by blending it together with the way she sees or hears the modern music. 

YORA has always loved writing songs ever since she was a little girl, already in primary school when her first poems got published in newspapers, or magazines where she sent them to. Although she participated in “Estonian Idol” in 2018, her career in music took a more serious turn at the same year when joining label Masterhead Records. In 2021, YORA was featured in International Songwriting Competition as a semi-finalist with a song “GODDESS”. She is currently working on songs, co-working with a famous Estonian composer Tauno Aints, a conductor Rasmus Puur and a producer Jaanus Saks. 

Feedbacks like “Incredible arrangement with touching message” or ”This is exactly something for my soul” from the fans give YORA the strength and acknowledgement to continue the music journey.
