He is determined to get the house and techno scene going harder than ever in his hometown Breda and beyond, and aims to do so by bringing people together through high quality beats.

For the 17th episode of our podcast series, we thought it was about time to spotlight one of our co-founders and give him the chance to share his musical approach.

Meet Yorick. He’s far from a ‘one-trick pony’ (and yes, that’s a nod to the inspiration behind our name). In addition to his musical passion, Yorick wears many hats. As an Urban Culture Adviser for various cities both at his home-country and abroad, he’s spent years uncovering and supporting cultural gems. When he’s not doing that, you’ll find him tending to his flourishing allotment garden, where he grows even more than just his own needs of vegetables and spices.

We’re thrilled to have him contribute to the podcast series. Whether he’s digging into fertile soil, browsing his favorite record store, or exploring and mapping cultural hotspots in cool cities, Yorick always has a knack for finding hidden treasures.

Trickpony Podcast .017 ~ Yorick

It’s been a while — but here’s a fresh live recording. Captured at Ploegendienst Festival (Breda, NL), Day 2 on the Kaap Stage, beautifully hosted all weekend by the highly respected VBX crew. 

Rain and wind kicked off the day, but the real ones pulled through early — true Sunday warriors. My stage was one of the few offering shelter, setting the tone for a deep and warm opening. Later, I switched gears and gave the early crowd some well-earned punchy tunes.

Ploegendienst and VBX have always meant a lot to me. Their joint energy on this one pushed me to go deeper into my own sound. Truly grateful to be part of such a powerful line-up.

Our recording on a not so regular thursdaynight at a intimate Project Room clubnight in Breda (NL).  Great crowd and atmosphere and happy with the recording as well. Just a small vinyl f*** up but very pleased with our first b2b.
