Sweet Memories

Falling

 I was on one of our “Pray-cations” seeking God for some wisdom and direction.  Basically asking God for a clue cause I tend to be clueless.  We were in the mountains of Gatlinburg this time and I started getting in the habit of sneaking out on the porch to watch the river babble in front of me with my Bible and just meditate on the Lord.  Maybe I was hoping for a voice from heaven… I don’t know.  But I knew I needed to be in a quiet place to hear Him.  This particular morning as I am sitting there, I just speak out loud.  "Good morning — It’s so nice to see.  It’s gonna be a great day and I’m just so glad to see you.” You see, I could see Him all around.  In the beauty of nature, in the gift of my family.  In the fact that when I call him, he’s waiting for me.  I grabbed my note pad and pen and jotted down a few lines that would eventually be the lyrics that you hear today.  Later that afternoon, I couldn’t get the words out of my head and I grabbed the acoustic (often travel with an instrument) and the chords just fell out of my fingers and I started singing as if I had always known the song.  It has remained virtually unchanged since about 2009 when I wrote it.
