A pleasure and an honor to join Moontribe for the October edition of FMG out in the desert. It was my first time playing (talk about nerves, lol) after attending and learning so much from the MT crew for years. Their 30-year history has had a huge influence on me - my sound, my musical path, the events I throw - in countless ways and I was grateful to join this lineup for a Halloween celebration. 

Enjoy my noon/midday set on Saturday - right between two of my breaks favorites and friends, Brandroid and Bartek. It's a mix of groovy 4/4 and breakbeats to get your day moving :)

With a global upbringing, roots in San Francisco, & a current base in San Diego, Torie’s sound is eclectic to say the least. She interweaves elements of house, minimal, dark & driving techno, breaks, soulful vocals, soft melodies – & every now and then, some drum & bass – all to tell a story through sound. She believes in the power of groove, and plays with one goal in mind: to bring newfound life to the dancefloor.

As a core lead of Inquiry Collective, artist with Burning Man art cars ICARUS and Dusty Rhino, a resident DJ of You’re Welcome, and a co-founder of Dance With Haha, she draws inspiration from the dusty plains of the playa, the curious explorations of the Mojave desert, the underground dancefloors of SF, & the interstellar endeavors of ICARUS & its motley crew.

She has performed with KiNK, Superflu, Justin Martin, Overmono, Maya Jane Coles, Anja Schneider, Tale of Us, Patrice Baumel, Marbs, Mikey Lion, Porky and Evan Casey of Desert Hearts, Rinzen, Dance Spirit, Eskuche, Marques Wyatt, Tycho, KMLN, Sabo, Justin Jay, Hoj, Kevin Knapp, Shiba San, Joeski and more. You may have seen her with renowned crews like Space Cowboys, Distrikt, and Desert Hearts, or on the festival circuit – including Outside Lands, EDC Las Vegas, Northern Nights Music Festival, Desert Hearts Festival, The Untz Festival, Umbrella Weekend, and Outside in Equinox.
