Our exclusive mix series continues with BC producer/DJ Young Dene. He gives us some world premieres of his new music in this eclectic journey of a mix.  Young Dene, aka Eugene Boulanger, comes from Tulít’a [pronunciation: three syllables: two’lee’tah], a remote community in the Sahtú [pronunciation: two syllables: sah’two] region of Denendeh [denen’day] (known commonly today as Canada’s Northwest Territories). Over the last decade Young Dene has been  actively promoting sound system culture in Canada, connecting communities of artists to larger audiences as a consumer, a producer and a talent buyer, culminating in his desire to carry forth the tradition of creating music.

The 30th instalment of the Murder Mix series is curated by Young Dene who hails from TULÍT'A in the Sahtu region of the Dene homeland. He has been a welcome character of the West Coast bass scene for years and recently has been making his mark as a skilled DJ and producer. He's been working on sounds that blend new art forms with northern and ancestral elements, crafting a unique sound rooted in bleeding-edge West Coast bass music. He was just signed to Triple A Agency, a new collective of the west coast's best, so keep your ears peeled for lots of new music soon.
