Born in vibrant township of Umlazi,Phakamani"Young Cannibal" Makhanya
was born in Umlazi Princess Mshiyeni Hospital 
in 1993 he is the 6th born,he grow up in the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal,
in Umthwalume and came back to Umlazi for his first year in primary school,
in 1998 and in 2001 went back to south coast in Umlazi to start grade 8 till he matriculated
 .Phakamani did Music (history and Theory) 
and Dramatic Arts as some of his subjects in high school.

At the age of 13,Young Cannibal began his career by perfoming in school and street shows
in and around Umlazi.Life Check, a p perfomance platform that was held at Durban's renowned 
Bat Center also gave him opportunity to improvehis musical and hip hop skills.

in 2009,at age 16,he recoeded a mix tape which titled Wrong Turn One
which gave him opportunity to be recorgnised in the durban hip hop scene and
this resulted in him being featured in the Best of Durban's Compilation MixTape.in 2010,
he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Original Material Awards which celebrate the rich
and diverse hip-hop culture of South Africa.

March 2012 saw Young Cannibal  being signed to DM Media, a company best known for grooming
some of the best rappers producers from KwaZulu-Natal,the likes of Zakwe,Duncan,Mhlathi,031Beast,
Skye Wanda,Select Play(production team behind Duncan TsikiTsiki Remix and Zakwe's Vearse) and 
One-nder(producer of Duncans Tsikitsiki and MiThatha) etc. He has also featured Zakwe's and Duncan's
Sama/Metro Awards Nomination Tour.Young Cnnibal also opened for Kendrik Lamar and Rick Ross on their respective
South Africa Tours.

Not one to be swayed by adversity,Young Cannibal Recorded a project tittled Lyrical Warefare,
Which he Launched on December 16th 2012,he sold 4400 copies on the street of KZN and 
2013 Original Meterial Awards Young Cannibal was Nominated on 7 categories and he took home
4 by public vote as the results of the awards were voted by public. This also led to South Afican Hip Hop Awards(SAHHA)
taking notice of the young vibrant rapper and Young Cnnibal was nominated on the Corner Cypher Competition 2013 
and perfomed in 2014.

Young Cannibal also Won on the,Ukhozifm/RedBull 2014 best Rapper competition and led to him
to record some of his upcoming singles  at the Redbull studios in Cape Town under the mentorship of OkMalimKoolKat.
His songs have been playlisted on a number of radio sations such as, Ukhozi FM, UmhloboWenene,
iMbokodo FM,iGwalagwala FM,Igagasi FM,iNanda and VIbe FM and Vibe FM to name a few.

Young Cannibal is Currently Shooting a Youtube Hiphop series titled King Cann Cyphers 
and will feature some of the most prominent rappers from in an around Africa, a first video was released early
May 2015 and generated major buzz,the Cypher will also feature gold selling rapper Zakwe for a track thei did called 'Thunder Sound'
and the track was number 1 on Ukhozi FM hiphop top5 for 4 weeks straight,on the November 2014 Chats.

Young Cannibal tells South African Stories and Poetry Like no artist at his age which sets him apart from the rest and  has stated and the Young Rapper owns his indipendent record label 'egalini records'.
