Finally it sees the light of day: a podcast by machine wizard Milium. One of Leipzigs finest producers under his Milium moniker, part of Dog Balls and as far as we can identify countless others in the consilium of Clear Memory. In our opinion the most powerful label our city has to offer nowadays. 

Sound- and musicwise Miliums productions and sets vary between his soft spot italo disco, wave and kind of industrial-cold machine music and of course electro. A mixture we take absolute pleasure in.

He describes the idea behind this mix as 'still no rave, here is rave in a box'. There‘ s nothing to add from our side to that. Imagine dancing to this mix if you´re able to remember what it means and feels to dance inside a maelstrom of lights, bodys and energy. We´re sure  this mix will help you bringing back the memory.

Matti Turunen is probably best known for his work as Morphology (with Michael Diekmann) but here he goes it alone for a new EP on Cultivated Electronics vinyl-only series, Cultivated Electronics Ltd.

Finnish electronic maestro, Turunen's previous solo ventures without his Morphology cohort are rare. The last time was a track for AC Records in 2013 (which was remastered earlier this year for Bandcamp), but appearances have also cropped up on Abstract Forms, Muhk and Bliq in previous years.

For his 'Radau' EP on CE Ltd he turns up the Electro-funk to the max with lush arrangements, dulcet melodies and gritty beats – there's a warmth in the machines.

Hot on the heels of his latest release on the mighty Tresor, Irish Electro king and CE regular DeFeKT kicks off the series with 2 dancefloor destroyers. "Control Your Mind" rips through with harsh distorted 808s and booming vocals while "Fear and Body" is a spooky, funky electro groover perfect for dark basements. FRANCOIS DILLINGER uses subtlety and forcefulness in this release in order to create a cohesive aesthetic. "-40.715921" is experimental in its own right, with the sounds of delayed acoustic arrangements building slowly and interweaving to create an immersive atmosphere. The full EP is fast-paced, but not in an overly frenetic way, and nevertheless enjoyable.

"Overlapped" is a bold statement. It opens with a bass-heavy groove that is heavily syncopated and often delayed. The beat becomes heavy and raucous, with swaths of distorted synth roars that are somewhat dark. The music maintains its intensity of experimental noise as it moves from one side to the other. Don't let the silence fool you; this music is loud and packed with a punch!
