“Sweet Little Lies” sums up the debut's charm in just three and a half minutes. Young Chinese Dogs' charming debut is a mixture of catchy folk tunes, melancholy ballads and rough Indie folk. It's impressive to see what a band can create with only harmony vocals, acoustic guitars, ukulele, accordion, bass drum and a toy piano.

Großstadtfeeling und Lagerfeuer-Intimität. Das sind Geist und Seele der Folk-Band YOUNG CHINESE DOGS. Mit ihrem letzten Album 'Great Lake State' sind sie direkt nach Veröffentlichung in die deutschen TOP 100 Album-Charts eingestiegen. Am 3. Mai 2019 wird mit 'The Quiet and the Storm' das sehnlichst erwartete dritte Album der Band erscheinen. Vom 31.Mai – 13.Juni sind die Vier deutschlandweit auf Tour. Dass die Musik der YOUNG CHINESE DOGS international locker mithält, haben die Hunde schon mit ihrem Debütalbum 'Farewell to Fate' bewiesen. Die Platte erregte Aufmerksamkeit von Deutschland über Irland bis in die USA. Mit ihrem zweiten Album 'Great Lake State' legten sie sehr stark nach: Opulenterer Sound, der aber trotzdem nie jene Lagerfeuerwurzeln verrät, mit denen die YOUNG CHINESE DOGS gestartet sind. Mit ihrem dritten Album 'The Quiet & the Storm' werden sie 2019 ein neues Kapitel ihrer Geschichte aufschlagen.
Das Album entführt auf eine Reise von der Vergangenheit in die Gegenwart. Es handelt von Abschied und Verlust, den richtigen Freunden und Türen die sich öffnen, wenn man den Mut hat, andere zu schließen. Birte Hanusrichter und Oliver Anders Hendriksson haben alle Songs geschrieben und produziert.
'The Quiet & the Storm' ist in einer turbulenten Zeit entstanden. Birte Hanusrichter ist als Titelrolle der Fernsehserie 'Jenny - echt gerecht!' zwischenzeitlich zu einem bekannten Gesicht avanciert. Ihre Musik nimmt sie dabei immer mit. Denn auch 'Jenny' singt mal einen YOUNG CHINESE DOGS- Song in einer Karaoke-Bar. Zudem lieferten die Hunde die Filmmusik für mehrere Fernseh- und Kinofilme. Zuletzt für 'Platzhirsche' mit Henning Baum und Oliver Wnuk. Außerdem erweckte die Band – nach dem Erfolg des ersten Films – für die
Fortsetzung von 'Der kleine Drache Kokosnuss' die animierten Figuren erneut mit ihren Stimmen zum Leben.
Auf dem neuen YOUNG CHINESE DOGS-Album verbinden sich mit Leichtigkeit frische Einflüsse und musikalische Entwicklungen mit dem, was die Fans seit jeher lieben: mehrstimmigen Gesang, akustische Gitarren und Ohrwurm- Melodien.
