The most magical moments in music happen when a lyricist is in conversation with the instrumental - when the two understand, respond to, complete & fulfill one another. Many artists aren’t great listeners. They’re so interested in getting out what they have to say, that they fail to be curious about what the production has to say to them. Music speaks without words; the greatest musical compositions carry their weight without a word being spoken on them.

Hippy is a great listener. He’s exceptional at capturing the mood of a track. Stargazer exemplifies that constantly. And what’s more, he expands and elevates those emotions, responding to them in ways I, the creator of the beat, had never expected. It’s truly a beautiful process to be a part of. Most artists think producers are handing them a blank canvas; Hippy understand that’s not the case. Each instrumental is a painting in and of itself, a work in progress, and he is to provide his own unique style to make of it a masterpiece.

This is the first project on which I could be called an “Executive Producer”. Around 90% of this production is mine - Hippy filling in the other 10 percent. But that’s not to say the music you hear is solely my creation. It is the culmination of almost 4 years of musical conversation between Hippy & myself. I hope y’all enjoy it.
