Was just thinking about this mix, only for a quick search to reveal it was posted on this very day in 2010. It's also Kim Gordon's birthday so the inclusion of Ciccone Youth makes for double spooky points.

Made in a windowless room on a sunny afternoon in London with two turntables, a box of records and little regard for beatmatching. Contains drum machines, 80s extended mixes, squealing synths, soundtracks and lashings of analogue delay.

@djaptone has had a killer year since unveiling his disco-tinged moniker Michael The Lion, contributing to a sold out 12" on Soul Clap Records with his track "Funk Train", releasing his own jam-packed 12" of edits on Brooklyn's Razor-N-Tape, and starting one of the city's hottest parties at new venue Franky Bradley's, HOOKED. Michael blessed the airwaves on Saturday afternoon with a slew of feel good disco vibes that you need to hear!

The 2015 Electronic Music Marathon was a 78 hour NONSTOP DJ marathon bringing together a diverse group of some of the best DJ talent in Philly to raise money for Mural Arts & WKDU. When I read this, I knew exactly the kind of mix I wanted to make.While going to college, I had to make many long road trips across state lines.I tended to listen to a lot of Minimalism on those drives (Steve Reich, Philip Glass, etc), which to my ears completely embodies introspection and time.So I decided to make mix that bridges my current career in dance music with the simple, introspective qualities of music I listened to on those drives.This mix might be a little unexpected based on the music I’ve released, but I really wanted to showcase some of my influences and music I listen to for pleasure.Enjoy!”
