Hailing from the Wilson Park Projects of South Philadelphia, rapper Young Ros knows first hand the sacrifices taken to survive in the streets all too well.  “If you wasn’t drug dealing, you was killing,” he says referring to his neighborhood, which he coins the "jungle”.

Young Ros received his moniker at the age of 13 from a childhood friend who nicknamed him Roscoe, a term given to a handgun, following an incident where he was robbed of his first paycheck at the Tasker Housing Projects. From then on, he kept a gun on him stating, “I was so mad, I never wanted to go through that again”.

Today, Young Ros strives to paint a picture through music that gives a colorful glimpse into the struggle of the streets to which the whole world can relate. “I represent the ones that’ll never know how it feels to be free again. The ones that thought it would never be, yet they still made it.  I'm the truth behind the truth”.
