A young rap artist from Prishtinë, Ylli Berisha aka “YounG Y”, born in 1992, has experienced a lot within his young years. In 1999, as the war in Kosovo started, Ylli witnessed too many tragedies for his age. If one can imagine, the blood, the carnage and the destruction of people, things that one should see only in a movie and be left to the imagination. Ylli refers to it as living in a nightmare
with the events of it all, almost driving him to madness.

Trying to survive the events happening in his homeland, Ylli left with his family to Macedonia to apply for their passports. They were blessed when their family name “Berisha” was called, for them, it was like winning the lottery. Ylli and his family, now reside in the United States.

Living his new life, feeling more secure in his surroundings, Ylli found a way to release some of his trials when he developed an interest in rap music. It was during his first year living in Wisconsin that rap music captivated him. At age 13 he went to a local department store, purchased a cheap microphone and thought he would express himself through this music.

Ylli recorded his first song called "1 2 Albo Unit Coming at your crew" with friends Shkelzen Abazi aka “x38” and Premtim Ferati aka “Gamesta”. As Ylli grew to love rap music more and more, he decided to take it more seriously, follow his passion, and go solo.

By age 18, with some experience under his belt and a willingness not to give up, Ylli started to make songs with other artists, Tee A, Albanian Devil, Jboi, Lyric Master, Mking, Lil Vlora aka “Lil Queen”, Cilex and more. In 2010, in Kosovo, his first video, "YounG Y - THE SHOW" was produced. Since, Ylli has been featured in several newspaper articles, faceted in various magazines, notarized on radio and has appeared on television.
