“Shall We Dance” is an intimate portrait, shaped by soft, emotive tones and textures,  accompanied by a distant and melancholic piano that gently carries a sense of hope. Set in a dystopian world where darkness looms and hope feels distant, the track tells the story of a young man and woman who meet beneath a dim sky. Surrounded by a collapsing world, they choose to do the only thing left that makes sense — share one last dance together. A quiet act of connection and beauty amidst the ruins. The track gradually builds with layered synths and an increasingly urgent rhythm, adding tension and emotional depth to their final moment.

Beloved inductee Stellar Dendrites returns to Unbeyond Anthologies with a truly incredible double single, “nonphysical / outnumber”.

Markedly more somber and downtempo than past outings from the artist, this new A/B still features the hallmarks of Stellar Dendrites’ instantly memorable sound. Swaths of nostalgic synthwork, soothing atmospheres, and tightly polished, ethereal production are abound in this release. “nonphysical” is a 4-on-the-floor cut with understated yet tense songwriting and truly idiosyncratic synths, while “outnumber” is a sparse downtempo masterstroke through and through.

“These are a couple of tracks I made last fall. I was very scared and lonely when I made them, and that reflected in the composition compared to my other work. My worldview and state of mind have changed in ways that I never could have expected back then, but I still felt it right to share this music from that time. Now, as I work towards becoming the person that could have helped my past selves, the tracks have taken on an entirely new meaning.” said Stellar Dendrites.

“The world is still a terrifying place, and will remain so. Genocides and atrocities rage on, and the most cruel people only grow more proud of their foul nature. The calls for violence towards our world's most vulnerable can be deafening, but in no place are they the only sounds that can be heard. There is love buried in even the most bleak places, and we must look for it no matter how small or abstract.”

A year after the release of his debut full-length album, Omens & Artifacts, KEY-G returns to Desert Trax. With a high-energy, sprawling album, “EP” is hardly an appropriate term for a collection of songs, each more than 7 minutes and some topping out around 12 minutes, which gives Curled Up Dimensions a double album feel.

“Half of Nothing” propels the listener into the album with a psystep sound and a double time beat. Fans of Birds of Paradise will get their midtempo fix on “Quantum Strikes.” The title track gets into the Ott zone with a dubby feel, and “Unleashing the Forces Within” stays in the dub realm, but soars as an uplifting gem. The lone collaboration on the album is “Pinpricks of Light” which returns to the hard-hitting psybreaks realm. “Ascension Upgrade” truly tickles the Shpongle fans who demands an extra helping of bass.

Curled Up Dimensions is out November 30 on Desert Trax.
