On this page you can listen to field recordings made by residents in Houghton Regis and Luton living near the new Woodside Link road.

The Woodside Link will be the first UK road to have its own anthem - Anthem for the Road will be produced as a collaboration between local residents, visual artist Bettina Furnée and sound artist Marcus Leadley. 

Those living near the route are invited to contribute to the composition by recording their own favourite local sounds, using mobile phones or other devices, before uploading them to a specially published Wufoo web page. 

Selected sounds will become an integral part of a three-minute composition Anthem for the Road and may be used in the context of subsequent site-specific sound installations for Woodside Link public art.
