Based in Moscow, Alexander @Lay-Far represents a growing faction of producers and DJs tapping into the wealth of dance music connecting dots from jazz, dub, funk, and everything in between from, quite literally, around the world. A&Ring the newest release from @in-beat-ween-music, Lay-Far brings together geographically disparate, yet sonically coherent artists to create "Footwork House Jams 1". Footwork House Jams started in 2010 as a small late night community, influenced by sound and visual aesthetics of 90’s house parties in New York and Chicago. Upon a first rinse, there's no question Lay-Far nailed the local party feel filled with loose and seemingly off-the-cuff rhythms.

Bolting Bits premiere, « That DUB (Tape Mix) », comes from @intr0beatz featuring Lay-Far himself. The track wriggles and shakes as it builds steadily, utilizing sour organ chords akin to those championed so heavily from the rubble of dubstep. Right as the rocket that is « That DUB » seems to break through the atmosphere, it takes a nosedive into the Mariana Trench—the high-end cuts out abruptly, leaving only the most warehouse-ready pulses and tightly cut vocals that ripple through water.

The Prodigal Son returns to the label from whence his debut record was released. Live Ones have known Lorca for some 6 years, and seen/heard his sound evolve since their last encounter, back in the heady days of 2010. A lot has changed since, but it seems Lorca’s knack for a melodic hook is impervious to erosion from the sands of times- The tunefully delicate “All My Love” is a testament to the fact.

As the EP title would suggest, this Premiere is one of four odes to the late great prince of soul, Eddie Kendricks. Textures of some of Eddie’s hottest hits are woven throughout every cut, each brushed with a different stroke of Lorca’s artistry. Like one of The Temptations, “All My Love” fits like a glove into one of their infamous purple suits, dripping with pizzazz and swag - finger snapping and swaying for a full four minutes of soulful joy.
