Tel Aviv super group @megaphonim are bringing their off-kilter energy to Feines Tier in form of their new „Namal Ashdod“ EP with four original tracks and hell of a @simple-symmetry remix. Even though they’re all quite unique on their own, what unites the tracks is the combination of raw beats and vocals with an oddly catchy pop approach to the writing of the music. Be it in the aptly titled „After of Disaster“ with its let-loose energy, the slow-rolling „Lo Titfos Oti“, which could have been picked from an Andrew Weatherall (RIP) dj-set, or the title track with its break-beats and its unforeseeable left-turns, there’s always this playful and off-the-wall energy keeping the ball going and bouncing. And let’s not forget about the remix! Endlessly rising duo Simple Symmetry do what they have become known for very well here: Deliver an insanely groovy and relentless weapon of a track, guaranteed to blow the roof of every club, festival floor or after, however disastrous it might be. A solid piece of art composed by three songs coming from nature and its elements. An Ep that crosses different soundscapes like ancient haikus cross generations. PREMIERE : Gem Wallow - I Am 5 Months Old (Simple Symmetry Remix)

Making the debut release on their new label, Powder Music, Made in TLV drop ‘Rehab’ with remix support from Simple Symmetry & Xen, and Rina.

Powder music is a new imprint from Israeli duo Liraz Levinson
and Aviv Bens (Made in TLV). Breaking on to the scene in 2017 with a series of incendiary releases, they were quickly snapped up by Asymmetric, Keinemusik and Blue Shadow. Now bedded into the fabric of the Tel Aviv elite, they travel the world with their unique sound.

‘Rehab’ is a rubbery mid set chugger with bags of personality. An acidic bass takes the lead from bar one growing organically into an infectious groove aimed squarely at the cooler floors. On remix duties, Simple Symmetry and Xen drop the tempo to envision a dark, druggy dub version that swells with e-moments, while Rina delves into harrowing soundscape-y minimalism.

Kadosh is deeply rooted in the underground scene, playing everywhere from Fabric to Watergate to Blue Marlin in Ibiza. Title track ‘Amoladore’ opens with lush, acoustic beats and gleaming pads featuring vocals from São Paulo-born singer and a regular Red Axes collaborator, Abrão, that bring a sense of serenity amongst the supple grooves. The sublime ‘Paradise Lost’ showcases another spine-tingling melodic sound with well-crafted chords over rolling drums that make for a meditative aura. "Benedikt Frey and Naia d’Alò's Init project received great initial praise through two well conceived pieces for John Talabot's Hivern disco back in 2015. Now the pair are back on Les Disques De La Mort with a four track EP rich with their moody techno delights.

"Stereometric" sees a swollen electric base gently plume as ghostly vox and slowly eroding artefacts are scattered through the mix; landing somewhere between Bay Area minimal wave and the taut techno meanderings of Marcel Dettman. 

"Nuts" is an anthemic slice of darkwave electro; tense, a little bit menacing and cinematic as hell - conjuring images of late night mutant car chases through guttural cityscapes. 

"Wheels" sees us dive down smacked-out electro-post-punk rabbit hole; landing in a drug stained bedsit around Hulme Crescents circa '89 with next doors party still in full swing two days since it began. 

"Mindwork" invites said neighboring crusties to an all-night post-Goa-trance rave up on some moonlit beach and populated by shady drug dealers and Mad Max type characters all locked into its full-throttle stomp. "

After playing in the city many times and hosted a legendary party at Opium Club, the relationship between Calypso and Vilnius is quite strong. This is why they invited local talent Plot Pilot to share a release with label boss Thomass Jackson for the next "Correcciones". 
The A side is Jackson's time to deliver his two edits. First one is a bongo driven, afro robotic vocals, breakish trance extravaganza. While the second one goes straight for the chin with it's vocals who comand you to work work work ! 
The lithuanian boys deliver a cosmic track full of psychedelic guitars and bleepy noises on their first one and for the second one, and the one we are premiering here, they pay tribute to the lithuanian seaside where every summer the famous Ant Bangos festival takes place.

Canada’s ALI X (formally Azari & iii) and Mexico’s XIMENA are releasing their self-titled, debut album project. Set for release this July via their own label ‘CONTROLLA’, tracks from the album are receiving remixes from a selection of well-respected artists, as is the case here with Timothy Clerkin's remix of "No Me Gustas."

After many failed attempts at writing the press release for such an ambiguous project, it's the artists themselves that introduce the album… 

“ALI X (ex Azari & III) and XIMENA (Controlla.Mx) are a powerhouse duo whose risky Spanglish techno-rap out of Mexico City cuts raw, rugged barrio street juice with laser sharp cultural rhetoric, radiated by a dominant visual element unique to their assay. Their Spring 2020, self-titled debut album is a bricolage of radical freak poetics and hyper-focused observations, entangled in a dusky jungle of dank, chunky production and abstracted aural art pieces. With deep-referencing and inspiration from Luis Miguel to Plastikman, Jean-Paul Sartre to John Paul Jones, these two rap-junkie technoid punks poke fun at the contemporary cultural milieu with a deadpan seriousness you can never quite read for sure...

Premiere: ALI X x XIMENA "No Me Gustas" (Timothy Clerkin Remix) - Controlla

The 'Holon / Jaffa' Duo "Maar Bullet" don't let us know much about their project.
Their 2 song EP "Love Support" came out a few months ago and now it's time to reveal the remix for "Mount K".
The mysterious Lithuanian group "12 INCU PO ZEME"  together with guitar player 'Tumosa' has taken this song to beautiful and unexpected places including deserts & wind.

Years of sweating in garage bands evidently prepared the Lipsky brothers to break boundaries in commercial club culture with a sound that somehow evokes the essence of psych-rock while never sounding out of place alongside certified technoid bangers.

Their musical breadth as producers speaks to their talent as DJs, with a deep passion for record digging that again conveys very specific sensibilities – a love for the exotic, the yearning for transcendence, as well as the rough rebellious energy of punk. They produce dance music from the margins, full of with narrative, melody, and drama. It’s intense, in a good way.* 

Their affiliations to broad-spectrum labels like Multi Culti, Disco Halal and Correspondant might paint some picture of their range, and their stellar remixes for artists like Nicola Cruz, Adam Port, Autarkic and Polo & Pan may have earned them lots of plays,  but their debut LP ‘Sorry, We Did Something Wrong’ is undoubtedly their most ambitious and elaborate statement to date. Drenched in their influences, rich in collabs with a range of artists like Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera and C.A.R., the record is at once ambitious and, as the title suggests, apologetic. Their capacity for embracing these polarities, a radical boldness tempered by self-consciousness, it may divide the audience, but it shows unmistakable personality.

This year, Simple Symmetry start a new chapter both in music and life after fleeing their native Russia, they returned to Multi Culti with an epic, mournful EP called “Problem,” featuring a huge remix by long-time compatriots Red Axes. Another huge edit for CULTED is on deck, as well as a peak-time rework of Drugface, following up on their massive mix of ‘In the Clouds.’
