During our songwriting sessions, Natalia couldn't think of something to sing to the drafts I had laid out for her. We sat alone in the room for what seemed like hours. After a while of looking around the room, I saw the notepad on the desk and decided to pick it up. I gave her a pen and dropped the notepad right next to her. I said "I know there's a song somewhere and we're going to get it out of you. Here's the pen and pad. I'll be back in thirty minutes." And I left it at that. When the thirty minutes passed I came back and she ushered me out of the room really quick and told me to not walk in again (lol). So after much deliberation she called me back to the room and said she had a slight idea of what it sounds like. I told her to sing it and I would play the keys. I was STUNNED. I was absolutely in awe at this song. It was the second song I worked on and I was absolutely in love with it.

I pray that those who hear this song would delve further into the love of the Father and realize that He will always be for you.

In the prayer room, it was silent and I was the only one on stage. I was deeply grieved and needed to sing my heart out due to the things going on in my life. When I finished my set, I heard a song start playing in my head and I started singing out a simple chorus which became the chorus for this song. I immediately dropped what I was doing and sat at the keyboard in the hospitality room to continue writing. Everything that I needed started to flow out of my mouth. I wanted to record but my phone had died, so I used the device I use pads on to record a video of me singing the entirety of the song. After that, I took it to my room where I drafted a couple of ideas, but none really stuck and I just left it alone. After a few weeks, I came back to it and happened to find the Toms on looperman, which gave me an idea and in turn formed this.

The song is named Solidarity, because in the midst of my crisis, I was having troubling with knowing what I was doing with my life. I asked myself, "Why am I a christian? What exactly do I believe?". The song is a declaration to whom the Lord is and How much He has gripped me.

I pray that this song not only encourages you but challenges you to seek Him first and then the kingdom.

Solidarity (Feat. Zack Banton)

Katie (my now Fiancé), had been writing songs since she had gotten saved and by the time I had asked her to contribute to the album she had written over one hundred worship songs. Each detailed to the magnificent presence of who the Lord is and the adoration of His majesty. I was in shock, but the one the Lord had me choose was "Like a Fire, Like a Flame". The song was written when she was newly saved. In a moment of spontaneous worship, this song was birthed in her home.

Unfortunately, this song will not be released on the album but you can stream it/download it on Noisetrade until May 2018.

Like a Fire, Like a Flame (Feat. Katie Hansen)

We spent about four days (Weekly) writing this song. Carolina had the idea and we sat at the piano. I told her to just sing something and I'll play to match with her and we loved the outcome of it. As we continued to work on the song, she had expressed that she wasn't feeling the best and was scared to hear herself. I told her to just sing like we practiced and it'll be just fine. During the process of Mixing the song, I had decided to cut out the second bridge, because I felt like it was better suited for a live performance. With the first draft complete, I had her sit down next to me and listen to herself. She was completely stunned to the point where she was almost crying. She didn't believe that she could sing so well. I believe it was a great eye opener and experience for her.

Throughout the writing process Carolina was going through challenges and unsure about her faith, but she refused to give up and walk away, even when she had every right to. We pray this song blesses your heart and helps you lean of God in times of need!

Originally this is the song that started the whole idea of Youth Collective Worship. Together with another friend of ours, we wrote the chorus and at the time it was all we had. We had originally said that was good, but deep down I knew there was more.

Come a few years later and Darryus and My family sat down to write the Bridge. We wanted to answer the question many ask. Why is it that when bad things happen, we still fight, pray and seek God? Because He is hope. He is who calls us out and helps us in our weakest moments.
After Darryus and I had a final session, I realized that the song was super short. Intro-Verse1-Chorus-Bridge-Chorus seemed very quick so I wrote a second verse to add onto it.

Darryus wants those out there to know that they are not alone and even when things look like they're going downhill, there is a hope to hold onto.
