Carmen Electro is a Finnish DJ whose burning passion for music has led her on a journey of self-discovery. More than just a DJ project, Carmen Electro represents a broader ideology of embracing discomfort, seeking new experiences, connecting with others, and channelling creativity and positive energy into personal and shared hedonism, for which vinyl DJing is the perfect medium.

Her selection principles see her dig for records based on emotion rather than genre. As a result, Carmen often finds herself most excited in playful combinations of different genres of dance music — though techno acts as the red thread that connects everything. Her sets aim to highlight the legacy of historical producers and styles while also bringing grateful attention to new-gen artists who keep the spirit of the underground alive.

Berlin-based, Toni Dextor is all about the dancefloor. Using sound oscillations to shape the atmosphere of a  room, building up the intense energy at peak time and guiding audiences through mind-melting breakdowns  are aces you’ll find up his sleeve. Unsurprisingly, his decision to become a DJ was inspired by years of  clubbing. Not content with simply selecting the music however, Toni started producing in 2018 and has  since released on some of the finest electronic labels, local and international, such as made of Concrete,  Planet Rhythm, Adroit and OFF Recordings.  
Toni Dextor’s style stands out for playing what he calls “functional” techno - you can always count on a  steadfast, highly engaging atmosphere that’ll make you lose track of time. In his productions, he takes cues  from own memories, recreating familiar feelings such as the intense room pulsation felt walking up the stairs  
of Berghain in the early 2010s, a notable moment in any of the infamous club’s visitors’ experience, no  doubt.  
Channeling these relatable yet unique experiences from his own club-goer adventure into his own tracks is  essential for Toni, as is “a hard kick”, in his own words. These elements, combined with his ongoing  experimentation with production techniques make him one of the figures to keep an eye out as he  continues to push through the rungs of the music scene.

It’s with pleasure that we introduce @aylinidah with SYNOID Podcast 151 as our latest SYNOID resident, joining our family!

With a sound that matches the shape of our weekenders her diverse sets, mixing various sub-genres and incorporating break beats, add dynamic moments. Aylin Idah is all about creating an atmosphere where people can let go and have fun. For her it‘s about being present in the moment. Her favourite moment at SYNOID so far was during her first gig in February 2022. Playing b2b with her dear friend Kim She, they transformed the dancefloor into a pulsating, lively space.

Aylin sees her role as representing Turkish and Iranian DJ's ,,because there are not many of us’’. Additionally, she appreciates SYNOID's support for her diverse sound. When asked about on why she joined SYNOID she said: 

,,I very much appreciate the ongoing support of SYNOID and I want to show my support back. I am very proud to be part of the family and cannot wait for what the future holds for us!’’ 

According to Aylin, SYNOID captures the essence of electrifying experiences with great line ups.

We are happy to have Aylin on board for our future adventures!

I was inspired to create this mix by Matrixxman's performance in the project 'Hör'. I named it 'unexpected call' because it's crafted with a slightly dark style yet the mix remains danceable and rhythmic.

Maura Loe joins for DifferentSound Podcast #249.


Dj and producer Maura Loe is a reference in the Swiss electronic music scene. Originally from Italy, her excellent club performances granted her access to prestigious festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival and Electron, as well as a residency for the Club Selectors radio show on RTS’s Couleur3 (Swiss National Radio). Maura is also establishing herself internationally, having already played in Germany, France, Portugal, Italy and Japan. 

Her taste encompasses old school and modern, with an inclination towards trance, techno, progressive trance and house, and a track selection brilliantly blended with acid textures and psychedelic elements. She has a particular affinity for extended sets that enable her to craft a music story, with tempos spanning from 90 to 150 bpm, comfortably moving among different moods and rhythms. With her energetic sets, she ensures that emotions stay at the forefront, a trait that also echoes through her music productions.
