Maïté Records is a House Music label that will bring you as much joy as when you’re cooking for friends. There’s no home country, because music knows no borders.

For this second release we’re lucky enough to have Chef Paulin Weissmann, who has come up with a recipe for the occasion that pays tribute to Café Croissant events. It’s a very well-balanced and original dish, like the music that goes into it, ranging from more classic house to very funky tracks, with vocoders, more minimal or even downtempo funk to finish.

Javier is an experienced selector and connoisseur of electronic music in its most varied forms, covering styles such as House, Electro, Breaks and techno.

With over 20 years of career, he has established himself as a key figure in the underground scene in the Canary Islands and Spain.

It’s a pleasure to have him with us for the first edition of DSSMIX in 2025.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?

At my house in Gran Canaria, during my January vacation, with a Xone 96, 2 Technics, and 2 Pioneer CDJs.

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

I try to capture my way of understanding the club by navigating through different styles, but always with my personal touch of mystery and energy.

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

On February 14, I’m kicking off the 3rd season of Pegatina, excited to continue contributing my vision to the Barcelona scene. We’re also launching new sub-labels from Círculo Cerrado: ETDG, curated by Aniano, and Interplanetary Music Service, the evolution of my radio show on Komrad.net, where I’ll aim to showcase less conventional sounds with my take on techno and electro.

4. Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

DSS! is an umbrella that embraces great dance music, regardless of style but always with groove. I’m really glad that Brieela and Leonardo have a clear vision of their offering without following fads or trends.
