Refraction of Light Vol. II gathers 21 artists linked by place yet divergent in expression, charting a fluid passage of moods, drifting from first light to nightfall.

The compilation’s framing draws from its title: like light refracting on the horizon of a long drive, it bends shifting sounds and perspectives into a shared vision shaped by distance, connection, and the landscapes in between.

In the same way, Amniote Editions’ capsules provide fertile ground for music to evolve — nurturing divergent practices, experimental forms, and cross-genre encounters. Refraction of Light Vol. II extends this lineage, binding artists through place and possibility, and echoing so-called Australia’s role as a cradle of creative life within its worldwide snakeweb.

10% of profits from this compilation will be donated to Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA) [para.org.au]. PARA help Palestinian migrants and refugees live safe, happy, and fulfilling lives in Australia.

Conceived on the land of the Gadigal peoples of the Eora Nation, the project acknowledges the traditional custodians of this country, paying respect to elders past and present, and recognising that sovereignty was never ceded.

After collaborating with Answer Code Request on Delsin early 2024, Amotik now strengthens the relationship with a first solo EP for the Amsterdam based label. Delsin is known for working the sweet spot in between emotive electronica and dancefloor functionality, and it feels like the perfect place for Amotik’s new EP ‘Raat’. The Berlin based producer has been pushing his highly effective techno tools via his own imprints for over a decade and doesn't make an appearance on external labels often. So for this special occasion he adds new layers of deepness and emotion to his palette. An effortless combo of punchy techno grooves and soothing pads together form a well rounded pack of dancefloor euphoria. The remarkable bleeps and playful rhythms of Amotik's highly effective techno are deftly transformed into four pieces of excellent eyes-closed techno felicity.

ABOUT THE SPUNOFF TRACK : 

El Sol Me Sigue was born from a simple moment: a sunny evening, my girlfriend by my side, and this ‘poolside’ instrumental track that had been sitting on my computer for a few weeks.
I challenged her to have some fun with the microphone. She accepted, shyly, a little hesitantly, but she quickly got into it. We ended up finding that perfect balance, a sweet and spontaneous track that captures the warmth and intimacy of that sunny, cute moment.
