This week it’s the turn of Pookie Knights to lead the charge, and they’ve only gone and brought special guest Ben Banjo Field with them! 

In the first hour Ash & Chris will be in the driving seat, spinning some serious quality music from the likes of Young Pulse, Dimitri From Paris, Even Funkier and Husko to name but a few. In the second hour, Ben Banko Field takes over with disco sprinkles aplenty from Hotmood, Babert, Dr Packer, Art of Tones and much more.

6 months later and over 100 lbs lighter (that's right, I've lost 100+ lbs!), The Darsh Sessions returns with its 14th installment: Not For The Faint Of Darsh. Taking inspiration from a recent November 2024 trip to the UK where I played my first ever B2B with The Captain Liam Spence (my brother!), this set unequivocally pushes the tempo and explores the higher BPMs of house, deep tech and disco. Hypnofunk basslines, pounding pianos, outrageous horns and slinky silk vocals are the order of the day, all served alongside a big honking slab of peak time Darshrageous energy. Please accept my apologies for any damaged caused by my attempt at ripping the roof off this mf. Sometimes you just need to travel where the tunes are taking you.

I recently finished digitizing all my old cassettes tapes in 24bit/48khz...
This one immortalized a live sampling session while DJing at The Byblos in Marrakech, Morocco in 1988 with my Atari ST computer... I don't know if I was the first DJ at that time (or maybe the only one) playing samples with a computer while performing..
I took all acapellas I found on my vinyl collection and put them on a 512KB diskette and used a box I forgot the name to send the audio to the mixing table... I modified the original ST program in assembler language to suit my needs (each key a sample) etc..and filled almost all instrumentals parts of my set with some samples... I think at the time it was something quite innovative. I Don't know if this is of any interest to my Soundcloud followers, but who knows ?

DJ Master Said is always looking for perfection when it come to mix tracks flawlessly, avoiding "easy" beats on beats mixing and looking for melody, harmony and creativity in the mix which can take a lot of time for preparation/realization. You may notice that some of the tracks in the sets are edited to avoid unnecessary repetitive parts and some have an added beat to give it more energy...

DJ Master Saïd entered the world of DJing in 1978 with his then best friend, Marco Capitani, in the middle of the disco era...In the summer of 1983 he entered the Club Mediterannée, the French corporation of vacation resorts, as a teacher of computer programming/gaming (on Atari) and that's where he got the name "Master Saïd". Spending all his nights at the discotheque he soon switched his job to DJ and the name remained...
Till 1990 he performed around sunny and snowy Europe and Africa (Dakar) seven nights a week ! He then lived for 2 years in Marrakech, spinning records at The Byblos and The Diamant Noir...
It was then time to settle down and he then became a records shop manager back home in Brussels. 
He now mix at home with Traktor and his computer or on his two Denon SC5000 Prime for his own pleasure and the one to share it all around the world thanks to the web.

He now work in a Hi-Fi shop in Brussels
