Dear Orphic, Float Records and HEDON,

First of all, I would like to show you my gratitude for the opportunity you’re giving upcoming, relatively unknown, artists (like me) with this contest. It shows you have the hearts in the right places. 

Secondly, the mix. The way I challenged myself is was in a three part way. As always, I tried to stay in the mix and really work behind my decks (I hope this translates well to the listener). Only then I can get a sense of fulfillment when I DJ. Moreover, where I personally challenged myself the most, was to refrain from the more hypnotic tracks I would play ‘normally’ and choose tracks that were ‘different’ but still that felt close to me as a person. Lastly, because my track selection differed from the usual, I utilized slightly dissimilar mixing techniques. Ones that give off a more old school ambience. 

That’s partly where the title “A Shift In Ambience” comes from. I tried shifting the ambience of sound, without feeling like it wasn’t me who was playing. I just transposed on my spectrum of musicality to a point where I felt it was suitable for the moment and my mood. 

Last but certainly not least, I truely was filled with enjoyment when recording this podcast and I couldn’t stop bumping my head around when playing these tracks. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Alessandro Adriani is a lot of things – producer, DJ, live performer and label owner of Mannequin Records – but above all he is a tireless music researcher.
The Berlin-based Italian goes further than your average “crate digger” in pursuit of information about sounds, styles, artists and record labels, devoting countless hours to unearthing the untold stories behind the music he loves, regardless of when it was made.

Adriani’s obsession has naturally shaped his other musical endeavors, not least Mannequin Records, the label he established over than a decade ago, voted label of the month by Resident Advisor in 2017.

Over the years, the imprint has won praise from buyers and critics alike for its open-minded blend of on-point reissues, archival collections and fresh productions. The intriguing, leftfield mixture of material on offer – think techno, electro, cold wave, industrial, EBM, minimal synth, and more – is naturally a reflection of Adriani’s wide-ranging and off-kilter tastes (as you’d discover if you had a quick flick through his vast and growing record collection).

Adriani is distinctively drawn towards the dark and obscure, and you can hear this approach amongst the long, drawn-out mixes of his similarly eclectic DJ sets. 

Alessandro has contributed outstanding mixes for Resident Advisor, FACT, Crack Magazine, Bleep, Cxema and Dekmantel. On the festival circuit he’s made appearances at Berghain, Tresor, Atonal, Boiler Room, Dekmantel, ADE, Dimensions, Neopop, Positive Education, Signal and more, together with his bi-monthly dates at Berghain and Panorama Bar, a residency he’s held from 2016 to 2020.


As a producer, Adriani’s output naturally draws on these inspirations, but also reflects his obsession with electronic hardware. 

Under his own name Adriani has built a reputation for delivering heavy, angular and forthright club cuts for such celebrated labels as L.I.E.S. Records, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Jealous God, Pinkman and - of course - Mannequin Records.

Spanish techno/hypnotic-techno Dj and Producer , Ignacio Cuéllar Abascal, born in Madrid in 1990 with great spain projection  Creativity, feeling and passion for hard, forceful and deep rhythms conform the particular style of his productions.


 He seeks to surprise with a totally new and promising concept, bringing out the sounds he has inside, mixing software and analog instruments, to create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy techno at its best. Releasing his music on labels such as Subsist, TMM Recordings, Diffuse Reality, Dissolved Mind Records, Sintetics, Loopaina Records, among others.

His music has been played in emblematic places by high level artists. In 2022 he joins two partners to create a label (Loopaina Records) where he currently works as a producer.

 At the beginning of 2023 his own label Ethnic Meeting Label is born, where creativity, nature and the deepest and most atmospheric sounds are the protagonists.

'Ever since hard techno became an international parody of underground techno culture worldwide, popularized by social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, I realized that it's no longer a movement (industry seems more accurate) that I feel I belong to. This is one of the reasons why, on my journey through heavy industrial soundscapes, I decided to change course and seek inspiration in completely different, sometimes rather peculiar places.

The mix is an attempt to blur the imaginary boundaries of electronic music genres such as Techno, Schranz, Industrial Hardcore, Darkcore, or even Breakcore. Preparing the track selection, I took a deep dive through my music library to find all the forgotten gems from the past that I could present in a completely new context. A rather fast-paced mix, full of relentless kicks, aggressive leads and dramatic turns of events. Enjoy'.

Flakka is a Polish DJ from the industrial depths of Silesia currently based in Prague, Czech Republic. Deeply passionate about music, he spent a big part of his life actively researching the underground music scene across Europe, visiting the most obscure venues and music festivals in search of inspiration. He became serious about DJing in 2020, while looking for a creative outlet. Soon after he co-founded his own collective - @void_collective which allowed him to bring his twisted ideas to life.

His unhealthy obsession with music has led him to gather quite an impressive collection of heavy hitting dance tracks, of various genres. Mostly specialized in heavy industrial techno from the upper range of the BPM spectrum, he’s not afraid to experiment, constantly pushing his listeners out of their comfort zones. Growing up as a metalhead he acquired a very distinct taste for the most extreme types of music like thrash metal, deathcore, breakcore, industrial, hardcore, rhythmic noise… to name a few. 

Although he has primarily made a name for himself as a DJ and promoter, he has recently shifted his focus toward developing a live performance. To date, he has had the opportunity to present his work to audiences in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. His setup is exclusively hardware-based, with a strong emphasis on analog instruments. The music he writes doesn’t conform to any particular style, often leaning toward experimentation and unconventional sound design.

Throughout his Dj career he played alongside many notable international acts such as .wav_909, Alt8, AnD, Don Woezik, Nina Bender, NOUS, Pavel K. Novalis and Peligre.

Adepte d’une techno brute et envoûtante, Margot puise son inspiration au sein de la scène berlinoise dans laquelle elle évolue. Elle façonne son univers autours de textures granuleuses et de rythmes sinueux.


Pour cette Radiation, elle propose une heure d’exploration sonore, entre atmosphères hypnotiques et industrielles. Une véritable invitation à l’introspection et au lâcher-prise.
