Beyond The Veil tells the story of an uncertain future, shaped by forces that are out of our control, like a voiceless menace acting as muse to humanities dark patterns. "This mix includes music from producers that played an important role in the making of our LP « Beyond The Veil ». We wanted to make a mix of tracks by people who influence us. It purposely doesn’t feature too many of our own material. Instead, some of the sounds from the tracks have been used to complement other people’s music.

It also features some sound design and subtle layers of textures added on top of it, as if it was all treated like a sort of remix or re-interpretation. It blurs the line between full tracks, abstract noise and textures, hopefully adding more than a blend of music.

We hope you’ll enjoy this."

Crew Session — Mtwn & Fearful: Beyond The Veil

We kick-off the week with new music from UK don Russ Brooker who features on Galway-based imprint, Rua Sound. We premiere ‘Breathe’, an infectious symphony of jazz-licked percussive grooves accompanied by intrinsic synth hook that sounds like it was recorded deep in the amazon.

Next up on Galway label and party, Rua Sound is Russ Brooker. The enigmatic UK producer has been working in the shadows, but as his discography builds, so does the hype that surrounds him, which has swiftly made him the name on everybody’s lips.

Russ Brooker’s debut on the Irish imprint see’s him channel deep and techy jungle vibes as he supplies a kaleidoscopic three-track offering, pulling all the rights strings in all the right places. The UK producer drifts through heavy rolling amens, into cosmic jungle euphoria and laid-back funk-laced grooves.

“Breathe” closes out the EP by dropping the tempo to the sizzling to the 140 range with earthy rolling percussion, celestial atmospherics and the kind of studious and deliberate polyrhythmic funk wizardry that most producers don’t cook up in a lifetime of releases, never mind on their honest-to-god-damn debut.

Gremlinz & Jesta continue their reign of tyranny back on DROOGS with two cuts of spine chilling blacked out Jungalism.

“Drain Clog” floats lunar hums and distant transmissions above stuttered rufige hardstep, as seething reeces slither into a coil around the beats, saturating the atmosphere in menace.

“Helion” sees clattering breaks, beastly knocks and cascading snares tumbling down into a machine gun tribal march, punctuating the sustained frigid dread.
