It was an infatuation with electronic music from a young age that sparked the beginning of Nick Berry’s DJ career in the Sydney scene back in 2014. Since then, Berry has made a name for himself through his acute deviation from what is expected, playing uniquely melodic music punctuated by an eclectic mix of deep house and techno - influenced by the early years of dance music. Fast forward to present day and Berry has shared lineups with Âme, DJ Koze, Jimi Jules, Trikk, The Drifter, Oliver Koletzki, Andhim, Super Flu, Gerd Janson, David Mayer and Panthera Krause to name a few. During the stagnant year of 2020, he maintained his divergence from the conventional when he founded Anomaly alongside Harry Hooper and Milly Lees. The brand is a cultivation of deep electronic music paired with finely curated graphic design to help listeners navigate through the beautiful obscurities of electronic melodies. in 3 short years, Anomaly has hosted takeover parties at some of the best venues around the globe, including Sisyphos in Berlin, Electric Bar in Melbourne and a Secret Warehouse Party in Sydney. The brand has released a multitude of radio shows from a selection of fiercely talented international artists; Musumeci, Argia, Santiago Garcia, Andhim, Reznik, Re.You, Skatman, Desiree, Matthias Meyer, David Mayer, Murat Uncuoglu, Alican, Aaaron, Super Flu and others. The mixes showcase the respective style of each DJ, while contributing to the surreality that is Anomaly. The music is complemented by the dynamic visuals of Leipzig talent - Panthera Krause. atish & Nhii head to Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion in a first-time collaboration with ‘Shola’, showcasing two innovative productions
Marking a debut outing on the Crosstown Rebels sub-label, the pair unveil their two-track EP promising an exploration of their musical mastery, set for release on 12th April 2024.

New York-based atish is an artist known for communicating the highs and lows of life through his diverse soundscapes, spanning deep house, Romanian minimal, artful techno, and emotive progressive house on esteemed labels such as Anjunadeep, Stil Vor Talent, and Manjumasi, which he co-founded with Mark Slee. Here he joins forces with fellow New Yorker Nhii, recognised for his bottomless journey of musical growth with no boundaries, exploring deep sounds and electronic elements on labels like Sol Selectas and One Tribe Records. Together they combine their creative visions for the first time with a compelling two-track collaboration on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels sub-label, Rebellion, offering a rich sonic tapestry of beats with ‘Shola’.

“I wear my inspirations and playfulness brightly on my sleeve with the Shola EP. Nhii and I created 'Shola,' referencing my South Asian roots with an obscure 1983 Hindi/Urdu sample, while the solo tune '2007' has synth textures nodding to one of my most formative years as a dance music enthusiast, the year I moved to San Francisco" - atish

The title track, ‘Shola,’ evolves through layers of off-kilter electronics and rattling, crisp percussion enriched by enchanting female vocals that infuse the overall arrangement with a sense of intrigue and excitement. To close, atish weaves warping sonics and mind-bending elements in ‘2007’, guiding listeners through a mesmerising exploration of propulsive synth patterns that intensify throughout.
