Here you’ll hear music that made my life in different ways. Some songs have been part of my childhood, others I researched and discovered in the last few years, one was composed by the Tejo river with my dear friend Casper Clausen. This selection was made for a live show at Casa Capitão, Lisbon back in summer 2021.

Islas Resonantes is Yu Lin Humm's first solo debut album. 

The music was composed during a travel that Yu Lin took along the Orinoco River, the natural border between Colombia and Venezuela. 

Water knows no borders. 
We are all made of water. 

Like water, the music of Islas Resonantes is in perpetual movement, carving spaces, softening the hardest stones. Its strength lies in its softness. 

We have an immense electric ocean within our body, which unifies all parts of our being. 
It holds memories, emotions, and connects us to every other being. 
It is an immense inner intelligence that can be awakened by tuning into it. 
It dwells inside and outside of us, manifesting itself in visible and invisible ways, constantly changing. 

Islas Resonantes is an exploration of this infinite correspondence. 
Each of us is a “resonating island”. 
The electric ocean connects our "islands" into one dynamic organism.

PLAYA BLANCA

Yu Lin Humm is a composer, musician and visual artist. 

She was born and raised in Milan, Italy by parents of vietnamese, colombian, french and swiss-german origins.

Yu Lin received theatre training along music (cello, piano, singing) and dance (ballet, modern, jazz), since she was 5 years old.
From 12 years old on she performed with many orchestras and chamber music ensembles in Milan, and composed soundtracks for theatre and short movies.

In 2014, Yu Lin moved to New York City to study jazz with Erik Friedlander.
Later, she enrolled a BA in Performing Arts at the University of Lisbon.

Yu Lin composed and premiered her debut solo album, "Islas Resonantes" in 2019 at Galeria ZDB, Lisbon. The official digital release will occur on March 31st 2022.

The music Yu Lin  composed and recorded with Núcleo Audio for the Motelx 2020 trailer, got awarded by the Art Director's Club Europe and received a silver award by the Creative Club Portugal.
