Invited by DJ Hax to mark the 50th edition of the radio podcasts on Soundtropolis Radio, I saw the perfect chance to express my love for techno music. My recorded set was a journey through hypnotic rhythms to the intense beats of hardgroove techno. This was my contribution to the celebration, a way to share what makes techno so captivating to me.

Spotkaliśmy się ostatnio z Julią, aby nagrać dla was seta (jeszcze wtedy o tym nie wiedzieliśmy), który jest jednym z najfajniejszych setów jaki zgrałem w formule b2b. W zasadzie momentami nie czułem, żeby grały to dwie osoby, bo wszystko płynęło tak jak na groove przystało. 

Yulz to mega utalentowana DJ-ka, która czasem hipnotyzuję swoją selekcją kluby w Katowicach i we Wrocławiu, więc podrzucam wam jej sociale, żebyście byli z jej twórczością na bieżąco, bo naprawdę warto.

OBRA FESTIVAL 2024 / yulz contest winner mix

yulz is a DJ from Katowice, Poland, and a music enthusiast since childhood. She is a graduate of two music schools, but it was in DJing that she found a way to share her passion with others. Her selection is primarily based on hardgroove, hypnotic techno, indie dance, trance, and different forms of disco, though she strives not to limit herself to these genres. She seeks inspiration from various sources. Post-punk, synthpop, and new wave have played the most significant roles in her musical development, and she returns to these genres whenever she's not digging into the heavier side of her selection. She is a fan of synth, tribal, acid, and even cosmic sounds. Personally, she loves listening to live music, whether at concerts or DJ sets. Despite her short tenure, she has already performed at some of the noteworthy clubs on the Polish scene.

Her new mix features a blend of indie dance, space disco, dark disco, and italo disco, all inspired by otherworldly sounds that she loves.

She draws inspiration from diverse sources and has a particular love for synth, tribal, and cosmic sounds. The biggest influences in her musical development have been post-punk, synthpop, and new wave, genres she always returns to whenever she’s not digging into the heavier parts of her selection. Personally, she loves listening to live music, whether at concerts or DJ sets. Recently, she also started learning music production. For over two years, she has lived in Katowice, where she’s growing her presence in the local scene. Despite her short time as a DJ, she has already played at venues such as CEL, Ciało, P23, Schron, and Wyspa Tamka.

KWAS #53 - yulz

This is a recording from a party at @ Cel, where I played the warm-up before @lucinee (such a great opportunity for me!). You'll find plenty of synth, groovy techno and trance here. In my opinion, it's one of the best sets I've played so far, which makes me even more excited to share it with you. I highly recommend giving it a listen!
