Are We Ever Free? blends ethereal shoegaze textures, bittersweet triphop, and soft liquid DnB into a slow-burning reflection on the invisible cost of modern life.
A strictly instrumental intro sets the tone: shimmering electro-acoustic guitars, granular pads, brushed triphop kick, subtle beatbox breath, and a warm expressive theremin carving a clear, emotional melody.

As the vocals enter, the song questions the idea of freedom in a world ruled by long shifts, rising rents, and dreams deferred.
If freedom is promised, why does it feel owned?
If life is ours, why is survival a full-time labor?

With hazy shoegaze layers, airy bass pulses, emotional theremin lines and evolving rhythms that shift between triphop and gentle DnB, this track becomes a bittersweet anthem for anyone caught between surviving and truly living.
