About the release:
"Geertruida first emerged in our consciousness when a tape was co-released between them and the British label Faux Discx. 
The tape was by a Dutch band called TV Wonder. This band were as poorly documented as they were appealing. It seemed they were a new band. It also seemed that Geertruida and TV Wonder were somewhat made of the same people. The internet would not provide certainty. Meanwhile, we discovered that our friends in Häxxan had played a house show at what was referred to as the ‘Geertruida mansion’ in Haarlem, Netherlands. Seemingly the same Geertruida. 
For a while, it seemed that Geertruida was everywhere and nowhere. Like Fight Club. 
Furthermore, it was a bit unclear to us exactly what Geertruida meant, else than being an old Dutch girls’ name. 
Meeting Marijn at a show in Copenhagen helped clear things up a bit. Besides being a kindred spirit, he turned out to be part of the secret Geertruida society. As it turns out, Geertruida is both a label and a house. It’s also a low key guitar shop. And a rehearsal space. And occasional venue and band hotel. 
The mystery was still very apparent, but as it turns out, our next tour would feature a house show at the Geertruida mansion. This turned out to be the absolute highlight of the tour and ultimately a further collaboration seemed inevitable. Thus, unfinished songs were finished and the s/t 7” was in the making.

J. Fen Hapens seems to create a spherical indie-pop universe with their compositionally strong songs. Utilizing expansive and carefully thought out instrumentation along lyrics that revolve around neurotic relationships, Felix Havstad Ziska and Calvin Bailey will be presenting a very strong debut offering with their 7'' coming out on Shordwood Records on May 9th.

Soft Walls' 3rd album; 'Not As Bad As It Seems' was a long time coming. Rabid enthusiasm, ground down by the slog of getting through a week. Falling out of love with what you felt defined you. Losing more than you thought you could lose. It's hard to keep going when you don't know why you're doing it. Yet still, Dan Reeves, the sole proprietor of Soft Walls (also guitarist in Cold Pumas and former overseer of the Faux Discx label) kept going. Just, very slowly. The race is over, but the tortoise is still determined to get over the line. What else is there to do? 

'Not as Bad...' is part self-critique, and part self-help. Our author throws his shortcomings in a pit, climbs down, and tries to figure a way out of this particular hole. The result is Soft Walls' most direct, concise, and (dare to whisper it) honest record to date. 9 tracks of self-reflective sauce, reduced down to a rich ragu. 

It's the closest Reeves has got to his sonic utopia. Years of tinkering with pieces of cheap equipment, that feed his beloved 8-track cassette tape machine, finally paying off. Blown out and turned up to it’s master's satisfaction. The guitars are cranked. The drum machine is cranked. The tambourine is cranked. Everything is cranked. It’s all in the red, crackling and alive. Compositionally there's a little less 'vibe' and a little more action than last time around, 2014’s well-embraced ‘No Time’. Songs are chopped short, guitar lines either blaze or stick to the note, nothing is there that shouldn’t be. The drum machine sound is real nice. 'Not as Bad as it Seems' is exactly one walk to work in duration. Enough time to get lost in thought, but short and sweet enough that you wish it wasn’t over just yet. 

The record rips through multiple looks in it’s short run-time. From FM motorik guitar rock, via high gain proto-punk, to looped ragas and lo-fidelity, wistful ballads. It’s all bathed in the record’s warm tape glow, resulting in a satisfyingly cohesive journey.

Throwing it over to our great pal DJ Popup (@why_u_poppin) from Copenhagen! The mind behind the magnificent NES (@noc_e_space) label and close affiliate of the Regelbau crew in Aarhus, PU hit our radar last year with his breakout debut 'Heather' EP, a deep garage infused house bomb with serious timeless appeal. We were lucky enough to catch him doing what he does best in a sweaty room here in Melbourne over the summer, laying down a jamming blend of forgotten 90s house peppered with deep burners from the Safe camp. I think Skydiver's Mike Wale said it the best, the guy is a walking house music encyclopaedia! This one is no exception..

Natal Zaks aka Mr. IRL sets the bar for fellow Århus based label 'Lightweight Electronics', contributing a 13 track LP to make up the label's inaugural release tited 'Synthesized Emotion', which was simutaniously produced to soundtrack a film produced by Natal, commissioned by the team at Strøm Festival.
