Phanom Leak is a poet at heart as he strings words together with the eloquence of a tenured sonneteer fused with the hustle of the streets. Growing up in Boston, he began writing poetry at the tender age of seven, inspired by an older female cousin who rapped. He began diving deep into the world of poetry, studying literary devices and works by his most admired poet, Langston Hues. The progression into music was inevitable as he grew up in a community rich with musical influence and soon there after plunged into rap. Phanom Leak worked to modify his flow and writing style to fit the parameters of the genre and eventually found a sound he could call his own. Although he is a New England native, he has strong southern influence in his delivery due to his family’s southern roots; a nuance that has become a staple in his sound. He describes his music as swag music, music that is catchy and promotes inner confidence. His music is the soundtrack to a good time while still connecting emotionally to his listeners. Phanom Leak has much on the horizon and invites you to join the ride.
