Jey Kurmis is set to be a name on the rise after the ‘Lil’ Nic French EP’ drops on Hot Creations later this month. A four pronged attack of bumping summer jams flecked with infectious vocals - lead track ‘Lil’ Nic French’ first appeared on Richy Ahmed’s massive Rinse FM compilation and rightly sets the tone with its heavy bass beat and mind bending acid line. Next up, ‘LA Shazz’ specialises in a chunky percussive groove and heavy low-end. On the flip, ‘Lover’ is an irresistible al fresco affair centred on a super groovy cowbell that builds with tight kicks and a richly textured soundbed. Closing the package, ‘Miss Raadi’ is another deadly groover laced with a dose of freakiness.

Jey Kurmis is a Leeds based producer who has been dj'ing all over the UK for almost ten years and producing for around 7 years. From his first release on Phobic Records to this artist defining EP for Hot Creations, Jey has been honing his craft across ten releases and this EP has been getting championed by some of the biggest names in the game including Heidi, Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed and wAFF.

First played on the Friday night dance show with Danny Howard, SP1DER & Joe Red’s ‘Music All Night’ got off to a storming start long before it was released. This tech house rocket ticks all the boxes for a future club go-to track as well as being radio friendly, with plenty of heavyweight climactic moments. The track builds to the 4:40min mark where it reaches its peak, no doubt doing some damage on the dancefloor. On the flip side, courtesy of this double up of Spanish producers, ‘Mighty Bad’ has some mighty moments, plunging from one powerful drop into the next. Expect to hear it on a dancefloor near you soon.

What’s Up Desert Hearts Family,

The next EP on the label comes from New York based producer and long-time friend of the label, @AlanNieves. Over the last couple of years we’ve been watching with joy as Alan released on some of our favorite labels like Elrow Music, Lost Records, Kinetika Records, & Lapsus Music, and it’s finally time we welcome him to Desert Hearts Records.

His Empty Lights EP is a two track tech-house powerhouse that’s been rocking our dance floors for the better half of a year. The title track Empty Lights is a haunting stomper of a tune that arpeggiates it’s way towards a peak that keeps on giving. On the other hand, the b-side “Contigo” is a drum fueled bomb that’s propped up by an uplighting synth during it’s breaks, only to slam right back into the drum madness.

If you’re into peak time music, you’re going to love this EP.
