Tiptoes makes a welcome return to SlothBoogie Records this November with a fresh four-track EP, entitled ‘The Akai Samurai Strikes Again’.

Glasgow’s Tiptoes has long been a respected name in the Scottish electronic music circuit, bringing his eclectic style to the table as a DJ, blending everything from jazz to jungle, house to techno, garage, broken beat and many more genres. His productions are a nod to his many influences and once again with this EP were treated to an amalgamation of sounds. The project follows on from his recent acclaimed EP on Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Music entitled ‘Cuss Tomato’.

‘Techno Woo’ leads the way and see Tiptoes embracing a filter house feel, merging a number of choppy funk licks, vocal chants, and bass lines in an ever-unfolding dynamic matter, while dusty drums carry the bouncy groove throughout. ‘Brotherman’ then tips the focus on to soul drenched guitar lines, brass melodies, snaking bass grooves and hypnotic vocal lines alongside loose, swinging percussion.

Opening the flip side is ‘Mars Landings’, embracing a deeper house aesthetic courtesy of hazy Rhodes chords,
swelling vocal loops and organic drums before ‘Strings’ rounds things out, as the name would suggest the
composition is built around expansive string melodies, gritty bass stabs and sturdy, thunderous drums.

Princeton Coleman (born April 27, 1997) known by his stage name Yuni Wa is a Music Producer, DJ, and Musician from Little Rock, Arkansas. Yuni Wa has released over 30 albums, eps, and singles that would go on to rapidly take over the underground of the internet through the 2010s. Albums such as — Ethereal Lover (2015), Data_Our Program Is Forever (2015), and Context 2 (2016) would become defining projects for a young Yuni Wa with all being streamed over 2 million times. Yuni is considered to be a multi genre producer but leans heavily into Electronic, Funk, Jazz, and Hip Hop based soundscapes. In 2022 Yuni Wa would play Electronicon 3 in New York where he would share the stage with artists such as Washed Out, Neon Indian, George Clanton, and Skylar Spence fka Saint Peps  Yuni Wa, possesses the unique ability to hone and mold his sound to any atmosphere he deems appropriate.
