There's something about planning a mix that doesn't ever work for me - I can never capture the energy and essence of what my sets sounds like in the real world, reading people and making executive decisions in a space. I try and try to write out the perfect running order of how a mix should go, but I listen back and it always feels sterile or too calculated. Today with some new found energy, not fasting for the first time in a month, I decided to just hit record and see what happens; this of course means a few whoopsies here and there, but the spirit of my records always lives stronger on the fly than it does planned out on a piece of paper. I’ve become addicted to the tangible nature of a record, and how it can never really be perfect. It makes you look inward and assess if a slight section being misaligned here and there really means that you should throw out a whole 2 hour mix, is this track in key if I speed it up X% or is it now unsalvageable and sitting in a microtonal abyss? etc. etc.

Here’s 2 hours of me cruising along, doing what I love doing - music :)

PS - I still only have one turntable so this is half CDJ and half Vinyl
