This song was in an unfinished state for over a year but then I finally finished it tonight with the guitar solo. I had two ideas for a song and ended up meshing them together. The track takes some twists and turns but hopefully makes sense as a whole.

Anfractuous

This is a song I wrote years ago and never felt like I was able to finish it. I've recorded the main guitar part here and I decided to put it out there on the interwebs for anyone interested in contributing to a final mix. 

If you can come up with a sweet bass line, lead guitar part, drum track, or vocal track or any other cool sounds - I'd love to hear it and then edit them together along with a video. It might be a bit tricky because it's just me playing the parts of this song on my guitar, no click track or anything. So you'll just have to go with the flow of the tune... :)

Funky Odd Rhythm - Collaboration Challenge

The night: March 4th, 2005. The reason: the three remaining members of Kelvin were rehearsing for their very last gig happening the next night. We invited the prodigious Mikey Vizier to step in on saxophone and improv with us. This recording is a complete improvisational jam of the four of us.

I needed to take a break in between writing papers, working on final projects, and studying for finals this past weekend, so I recorded this. My good friend Trevor, who I used to play in a band with, mailed me his old Big Muff bass distortion pedal as a gift. I am very grateful for this thoughtful gift and want to dedicate this jam to him. I also used my Boss TR-2 Tremolo pedal on my Jackson guitar to produce somewhat of a helicopter sound, hence - Big Muff Copter. Big Muff Copter

Late night jam on my Martin DM. Just fiddling with a riff and trying to flesh out some ideas. Hopefully it will turn into a full fleshed out song later. I decided to plug it in to my pedal board and amp. I used my MXR SuperComp Compressor and TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb into my VHT Special 6 Ultra.

Latin Jazz Improvisation

The Styracosaurus: another toy dinosaur I have in my window that inspires funk music.  Like his partner in crime, the Parasaurolophus (http://soundcloud.com/yusakri/walk-of-the-parasaurolophus), the Styracosaurus inspired me to record another funky track worthy of its name to become the title of the track.  I pulled out the wah pedal on my bass and used my Russian made Big Muff Pi for the distortion on the lead guitar.

This was actually recorded back in February but I just haven't had the time to post it. This track is a collaboration with my good friend Joey Simpson on drums. I relied heavily on my TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb pedal as well as a little analog delay and overdrive.
