My Child

Focusing on Other Things is a neoclassical piano piece that immerses listeners in a world where time seems to both expand and contract. Inspired by the interplay of subtle focus and sudden shifts, the composition moves through repetitive, meditative patterns that gradually transform, creating a sense of stretched time. It then breaks away into intense, dramatic passages, pulling listeners into unexpected territory. The piece mirrors life itself — balancing between calm and chaos, focus and distraction.

I premiered this piece at Manhattan School of Music’s opening composers’ concert, marking a pivotal moment in my journey as a full-time composer. It’s a deeply personal work that reflects my transition from an emerging artist to a dedicated creator in the contemporary music world.
