SUMMER SPECIAL: 100% VINYL

Last summer Burn The Roots joined forces with Miśka from @nauka-oddychania show to tell the story of electronic music in thirteen episodes of our collaborative breathe the roots radio show. It turned to be a breakneck challenge with huge amount of work and research to put in, but it was worth it.

This summer it's not any easier. 100% VINYL project means about eight dj mixes recorded in my home studio using a mixer and two turntables. Each set, counter to multistyle explorations of the regular BTR shows, will be lying in a certain theme - whether it's tracks from one artist, label or genre - with great excitement I'm sharing my vinyl selection with you for the very first time.

Guiding us into another week of extraordinary expeditions is the DJ, multidisciplinary artist, and LYL radio resident from Estonia based in our hometown; Julia Mira. Inspired by her background in painting, as a DJ she takes up music as her palette. Her selections are utterly unpredictable, layering bold brushstrokes of bass with euphoric rave climaxes and leftfield experimentalism. Approaching each set like a canvas, a blend of sensations is evoked, leaving sensual, imaginative space for lucid dreams, vivid stories, and an air of mystery to arise.

In between her bi-monthly show Mothernism on LYL, her frequent features on RRFM & Future Intel, donning the mantle of playing at the Red Light Radio of Dekmantel 2019 & furiously reheating that feat again two years later at Selectors, you catch a glimpse of why we have come to adore her so much here and you instantly know we have left episode 244 of the series in the most caple of hands. Follow her on the journey; "Emphasizing the mysticism of a moment on the high-speed ride of icy electronics and hybrid vibrations"
