Our third artist in October is none other than Italian multidisciplinary artist Francesco Presotto with his moniker Ex.Hale. His sound is characterized by dark, atmospheric textures that are driven by a modern vision of club music. The project is focused on the deconstruction of common compositional standards with the addition of crushing rhythm structures that establish the unusual framework of his subversive approach. With releases on Sonic Groove, Rudiment, and Voidance, in addition to soundtracks for fashion runways and design companies and to an increasing number of performances in clubs, museums and festivals around Europe, Ex.Hale has become a formidable force in electronic and experimental music.

Writing music for quite a long time, Zeuge discovered his own vision of sonic philosophy, passing through hard idm and breakcore to his own, actually, unique sound. Originating from Minsk, Dzmitry took part in numerous underground events and festivals all over Europe. As the time passed, Zeuge showed himself more like a composer and sound designer, than a dance electronica musician. Leaving hard and straightforward simplicity Zeuge found his own style on glitch, idm, abstract and ambient territories.
Investigating the ultramundane beat structures and distorting all kinds of emotions, this music comes very far from the trespasses of sound, known up to date. His music can be approximately described as a drift to the very different sonic landscapes with all types of human emotions.

Which artists have influenced you the most?  

- There are so many great artists out there, it's very hard to pick out just a few, but I'd say: Richard Devine, Datach'i, Subjex, clipping., Daed, Monster X, Death Grips, Xanopticon, Terminal 11. 

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?  

- Currently I am working on a new release for Defunkt label. I've also started a new EP for  Beadroom research

Which artists/labels are more relevant to you now?

- Again is really hard to pick, but I am enjoying Analogical Force, Concrete Collage, Defunkt, Opal Tapes, Occult Research and many more

What inspires you now to create music? 

- The desire to express your emotions or fantasies. Sometimes it can be an expression of my opinion about what is happening, sometimes it is just an abstract feeling that cannot be conveyed by anything other than sounds or drawing (which I am not good at).

What set-up do you use when creating music? 

- I am using Ableton + my modular eurorack synth rig

He creates compositions that feel sketch-like yet burned into the retina, like a passing car’s headlights leaving an impressionistic imprint of the source material. Recently releasing his debut on Berlin’s Archaic Vaults does not imply he is new to working with sound; he has been the proprietor of one of London’s most important sound systems for the last decade. An obsession with fidelity can be heard and at times deliberately perverted throughout his body of work.
