Title: The Golden Sword

She fell away in shadow deep,
A sudden, silent, comatose sleep.
She found a realm of blinding grace,
A single chair in that holy space.
Upon the wood, the Lord was there,
Not robed in gold, but humble fare.
A freezing fear gripped heart and soul,
She dropped to prayer beyond control.

Then Jesus smiled, His eyes ablaze,
And pierced the fear of mortal days.
He said, "Go forth in perfect peace,
The wasting sickness now will cease.
Your consuming flesh shall not decay,"
He spoke the promise, bright as day.
"I send a guardian to your side,"
The Lord's assurance, glorified.

The evening claimed her, soft and deep,
A shallow breath in troubled sleep.
She slipped away from the waking side,
Into a space where thoughts subside.
A temporary, deep embrace,
A plain white room, a silent space.
And there, upon a wooden stool,
Sat the Lord, serene and cool.

A chill ran through her, a freezing dart,
The sudden tremors seized her heart.
Her knees surrendered to the floor,
A whispered prayer and nothing more.
But then He smiled, a light divine,
Said, "Go in peace, the body's thine.
Your failing frame shall mend and grow,
An angel watches where you go."

The world returned in blinding white,
She woke, emerging from the night.
A lighter soul, a clarity,
She sat in awe, and turned to see.
Beside her stood a figure tall,
Responding to the Master's call.
"I am here for you," the voice was clear,
To banish every doubt and fear.
A shiny sword, a golden gleam,
Placed on her shoulder, like a dream.

A chill ran through her, a freezing dart,
The sudden tremors seized her heart.
Her knees surrendered to the floor,
A whispered prayer and nothing more.
But then He smiled, a light divine,
Said, "Go in peace, the body's thine.
Your failing frame shall mend and grow,
An angel watches where you go."

Three years they spin, the seasons turn,
A perfect health she's come to learn.
The comatose is far behind,
Peace of the spirit, peace of mind.
But once a week, a sacred rite,
She sits to capture pure sunlight
In ink and paper, a heartfelt plea,
A letter starts with, "Dear God," she.

To the post office, she makes her way,
To buy a stamp for the close of day.
No address written, no intended street,
A silent promise, bittersweet.
She posts the message, lets it soar,
Then walks back home, smiling to the core.
A promise kept, a destiny sealed,
By an angel's touch, and health revealed.
