a new and exciting concept from a mysterious liverpool based digger whose collection runs deeper than the mariana trench 🛸

after inheriting a large number of funk, soul, rock and dance records at a young age, it quickly become an obsession to which he built on for the past 12 years and refined it further over the past 6. a collection that consists of many unique 90s house, electronic and breaks records that you can hear right through this seamless mix.

more recently, reheat has started hosting events here in liverpool. so, keep your eyes peeled for two big parties over the coming months.

egyptian dj and party starter, mady, shares his collection of unique records through the 17th instalment in our mix series!

mady discovered his love for spacey, intricate sounds and percussive grooves a few years ago. since then, he’s been on a never-ending voyage to collect a wide array of intergalactic sounds.

when he’s not cooking (that's right!) he’s also involved with numerous scene shifting parties in egypt, catering a diverse sound, as both dj and curator. this includes outs:de, glasshouse, cairo jazz club, unicorn garden, funkhaus & misfits. plus, mady also holds a monthly residency at the paris based station radio flouka.

@lucy-blanshard takes control of our first mix in 2022 with some 90’s inspired house grooves, rolling baselines, bouncy electro and a hint of garage.

from starting off as a partygoer like many of us, lucy got around to teaching herself the basics of mixing around 4 years ago and has developed into an amazing selector. though, it was only in 2021 which saw the start of a series of guest mixes, eventually leading to gigs at some of sydney’s best parties including lost sundays, paradise club & finer things festival. more recently, she has also landed herself resident slots with oblique sydney and nomad radio - a community radio station where she hosts her own monthly show named 'flow'.

after listening in, you'll understand why some of her biggest music inspirations range from ethel, melody, charlotte, joe delon, laurine & cecilio, alec falconer, ben bracken (of course!) & truly madly.

our gibraltatian radars have picked up some extraterrestrial sounds from dan & ets! these two selectas really caught our eye last summer after seeing them throw down some of the craziest records over at kiyoshi, gibraltar. their memorising technical skills behind the turntables made us speechless, so it only made sense to invite them onto the series to showcase their sound 👽

dan was introduced to the electronic music scene at the age of just fifteen before making his way to southampton, where he secured a residency at renowned venue 'junk'. here he shared the booth with many respected artists in the industry and has since had releases on cultura records, misplaced recordings & ewax. 

ets made his mark playing for various collectives in and around wales. his craft was then perfected as he spent time working at the well-known yoyaku record store in paris. once returning to gibraltar in 2019, dan made him co-founder at the lacuna family, where they have both have been spinning some of their favourite records together - spanning from all things house, electro and breaks.

we've finally hit the 20th edition of space signals after three and a half years! joining us for this milestone mix is a close friend of the party and resident dj with the newly established picnic agency - pelle. 

amsterdam based, pelle is a part of the duo 'pH project' with studio partner herra. you can catch these two killa selectas all across europe this summer with some biggg gigs planned - keep an eye out for what's to come!

local digger and friend of the party, @jakehow, brings together a variety of records that have either been a part of recent happy memories or tracks that raises emotions. all bundled into one short story that captures the distinct sound of his ever-growing collection. 

a collection that has slowly developed into a thing of beauty over the 10 years of digging, playing and partying. from the @modular-liverpool days, right through to his involvement with @humanoiduk and being the helping hand at @re_heat. it's clear that jake's heart is close to music and is situated in the thick of the liverpool scene.

we're told this mix was recorded in a time of total bliss, a moment where time stood still for jake and he had the chance to record what he was feeling. ultimately, it was peaceful ignorance.

le louche grew up in amsterdam within a dutch-french family on a lot of classical music, pop, soul, funk and jazz. these influences quickly became infused with video game chiptunes and the hip-hop sound of the early 2000s. it's no shock that amsterdam’s thriving electronic music scene also played an important role in developing his taste in music further, leading him to start collecting vinyl and experimenting with music production from the age of 19. though, it was not until he moved to london in 2017 that le louche and his heavily uk influenced sound became fully defined. leading him to releases on various well-respected labels - @beeyourecords, @nuancesdenuit, @daydreamrecords and @lemaiaofficial.

and there might just be a label of his own around the corner with fellow partner in crime mehlor...

sydney-based digger ben bracken joins us for the 13th mix in the series.  ben's apart of the oblique crew, who dig deep for gems and leave no boundaries to genre or era, but the 90s were quite golden and are very influential in ben's sound. 

he finds inspiration through mixes and tracks by truly madly, youandewan, hamish & toby, laurine, wendy, liquid earth plus many more. in the past few years, he's played many venues throughout sydney and afar such as slyfox, canvas, house on the hill, bump & 404 to name a few and now holds a residency with oblique.
