For our third entry in the PPRZ Podcast series, we have a mix from Brooklyn's @zacfru!

Dr. Fruit is a dj and producer based in Brooklyn. He has been throwing and playing parties in and around New York for the past few years. His playful mixing style and eclectic selections bring levity to his otherwise dark n groovy, psychedelia-tinged mixes. 

Dr. Fruit describes the mix as 'When I made this mix I was thinking of the feeling of settling in on a dance floor, and was trying to piece together tracks that translated that sense of sinking into the music in a variety of ways. I was going for a comforting sort of amniotic feeling. I recorded it on two CDJ-2000 NXS2 and a Pioneer DJM 900 NXS2.'

"I imagined this mix as a radio transmission traveling through deep space like a thread of unspooled cassette tape. This journey caused genres and voices and other sound artifacts to fuse together, stretch out, and warp. These ruptures and disjunctures become part of the sonic structure. After centuries, maybe the transmission is received somewhere else in the universe as an alien communication, or maybe it just returns to earth as a kind of uncanny time capsule."
