some background: the Balinese dance is called Baris. it is the essential male dance that young boys start with. it portrays  a young warrior

the Javanese air is a song called "gambang suling" it refers to two instruments in the Gamelan ensamble. the ensemble is made up of drums, gongs and metaliphones. the Gambang is the only wooden keys instrument,their version of a xylophone which represents it here.
Suling means flute.  we have 2 and a piccolo

towards the end of the piece we the Kecak Balinese monkey chant is invoked
