Across the Coals

A few years ago, my Dad handed me a cd of all these old rehearsal recordings from my Mom's folk trio in the late 60's-mid 70's. They were originally all recorded on cassette tapes with a room mic. I've started going in and "remastering" the songs. Here's number one, a version of "It Doesn't Matter Anymore". She's channeling Linda Ronstadt in this one. It's so amazing to hear Mom's voice in it's prime. Such a trip to really hear where Sam and I get our songwriting and voices from. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree they say. Enjoy!

04 Brother the Hero

This track was recorded live in my house with the band, single mic style. The track features Tim Sharbaugh on cajon, Will Andrews on trumpet, Pat Melvin on upright bass, Peter Krag on accordion and myself on vocals and acoustic guitar. We made this as part of our kickstarter video, which will be out soon to fund a HiFi audio and video shoot to document the band and market to festivals and talent buyers. Enjoy!
