Hailing from Venice, Italy, DJ and record collector Zaffa’s journey into dance music was inevitable, thanks to his family’s deep ties to the scene.

Growing up amidst his aunt’s discoteques and influenced by his brother’s musical tastes, Zaffa was immediately captivated by icons like Michael Jackson and Kool & The Gang.

Venice-based DJ and collector Zaffa is next up on the ever-superb Scruniversal label with a couple more delightful disco dancers. 'Trip Through The Galaxy' is a slow-motion cosmic trip that is vast in scale and high on soul thanks to the warm vocal that floats amidst funky riffs and glowing keys. Things stay just as sensuous and steamy on the flip with 'Supernova Child', another fluid and funky jam with oodles of synth magic and gentle grooves all soothing mind, body and soul. The real kicker is the vocal samples that add extra spaced-out funkiness.

PREMIERE: Zaffa - Trip Through The Galaxy [Scruniversal]

DJ Zaffa is a Venice-based DJ and selector with over two decades of experience in the underground music scene. Starting out at just 15, he was raised on a steady diet of funk, soul, and disco — thanks to a family immersed in nightlife and crate-digging culture. His sets reflect that upbringing: eclectic, groove-driven, and rooted in a deep appreciation for music across decades. Zaffa weaves together jazz-funk, boogie, ‘80s synth sounds, early house, and contemporary shades of techno and electronica, building sets that feel both nostalgic and forward-thinking. A skilled digger and thoughtful curator, he approaches DJing as a storytelling craft — prioritizing flow, energy, and mood over flashy transitions or obvious hits.

Beyond clubs, Zaffa is active in radio and podcast culture, notably through his series “Laguna Waves,” which explores underground and alternative sounds with guests like Robert Babicz. He has performed across Italy and played internationally with gigs in cities like London, Paris, or Zurich, steadily building a reputation for authenticity and musical depth. His selections have also been featured on platforms such as My Analog Journal (UK) or Sacré Radio (France).

 In my first part of the show i play some new great tunes by artists like Antone Pieete, Sébastien Léger, Dee Montero, Alex Vidal, Jeremy Olander, a track from the new album of Christian Smith and some others. 
As guest mix, in the second part, i've the pleasure to host Robert Babicz! One of my preferred artist of all time, he produce music since the early 90's under some old aliases. In the last ten years he produced music under his own name and the alias Rob Acid for the dirtier acid and techno music. He also founded Babiczstyle Records to release Babicz's music and Dirt Cuts Records to release Rob Acid's music. 
Tomorrow (7th October 2016) will come out the new ambient album "A Moment Of Loud Silence" on Traum Schallplatten.
