Eine besondere Inspirationsquelle hatte @patrikberg zu seiner neuesten EP nicht: „Meine Ideen entstehen meist während des Produzierens. Ich weiß selber nie, was am Ende des Tages entsteht.“ Für „Running Numbers“ wählte der Musiker drei Werke aus, die in seinem eigenen Studio produziert wurden: „Ich habe das große Glück, dass mein Studio direkt bei mir im Haus ist, daher ist es nicht weit, und ich kann jeden Moment kreativ nutzen.“ Das Titelstück, „Running Numbers“, ist umgeben von atmosphärischen und hypnotischen Synths, die einen tollen Groove auslösen. Eine ungeheuerliche Bassdrum kombiniert mit tighten Hats macht aus der Nummer etwas Großes. (...) Erscheint am 2. Juni 2017 mit einem Remix von @locoandjam via @filthonacid - das Label von @reinier-zonneveld.

Patrik Berg - Running Numbers

Drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene’s most cutting-edge techno. With releases this year already from Adam Beyer, Pig&Dan, Alan Fitzpatrick, Dense & Pika and Julian Jeweil, this July see’s the return of Enrico Sangiuliano with ‘Astral Projection’.

After his remix of Moby’s of ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ back in November last year, Enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. The result brings a mind and body melting release from the Italian producer.

The title track ‘Astral Projection’ is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. Deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. Launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level.

‘Blooming Era’ has destructive dancefloor intent. There is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which Enrico has mastered to perfection. A tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track.

If you have seen label head honcho Adam Beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. Road-tested to the max, and with much success.

The label boss Joy Fagnani is back on WAM with a superb release. WAM 023, Love Is Not A Game Ep, contains two original tracks with a top quality remix by the duo Zakari&Blange. After the Remix for Gayle San, Joy has decided to get back on the label with top stuff. Love Is Not A Game, that gives the title to this Ep, it's a featuring with Elife Genc who worked on the vocal's part. Just that vocal part gave to the tune freshness and brightness. Strength kick, chords that bring rhythm, hihats and claps collaboration are the other secrets but it's not finished yet, there is another king, the analog bass which makes this track an authentic masterpiece! Just remember...LOVE IS NOT A GAME! Zakari&Blange debut on WAM remixing the main track of this Ep. The duo is growing up really fast delivering quality stuff on some of the top labels of the Techno scene. In this case as well Zakari&Blange made a beast version of this tune, quiet different from the style of the Original but great, that make the perfect combination for the release. Strong kick and really good atmosphere that brings you and makes you dream, they kept the vocal part dropped into the breakdown and the chord too. This tune is a 'must be played' track! As 3rd track we have another superlative tune. All I Need Is, pretty different from the latest stuff delivered by Joy, it has more berliner influences. Firm kick, he locks a glistening melody into place, and doesn't let go for all the lasts of the track, floating it gently throughout its length. The synth and the atmospheres make you dreaming and of course are the big stars of this tune. When the bass drops after the breakdown, wear your best armor because it could be dangerous. Just close your eyes and fly. Joy Fagnani's Ep deserves for sure to get the right attention and place on chart. Play it, share it, chart it. Our passion is Techno, our thinking is Techno, so, Techno is our life! Don't forget: TECHNO IS OUR WAY.

After the collaboration between Hollen and Raffaele Rizzi, Prospect Records strikes again with 'Energy Drink' EP by the label boss himself and remixed by the technoholic duo Zakari & Blange.
The original mix has an hanged and progressive rhythm with evolving synths, the typical and unique style of our hero.
Zakari & Blange treatment is darker, chords and melancholic pads on a pumping groove.

Andreas Mgge is now an established regular of the Lucidflow roster. His appearances on the imprint push the envelope of the label's characteristic deep leaning dance floor vibes, right into a tough and rolling techno edged sound. It comes as no surprise that his latest release 'Lyd' continues that trend. As if underscoring this, the first thing you are treated to in the title track and opener is an uncompromising kick. It is full blooded, punching you in the chest and leaving a lingering aftershock. However, rather than relentlessly pummelling you, subtle elements are woven in that pleasingly tick the track over, with airy melodies that intangibly drift above the resolute doom below. Showcasing a different percussive element, 'Swarm' works out some 909 toms. As a result, the beats dominate the low and mid-range of the track in ominous style. To counterbalance this, feather light pads drift like aurora borealis. The principles of yin and yang in full effect. 'Steam Eight' is a pure peak techno basement workout. Unrelenting and insistent. It arrives in two flavours. Andreas' original version is frantic and animated with nowhere to hide. Remixers Zakari & Blange--of Phobiq and Elevate fame--keep things low key, but still primed, for two thirds of the session, with a huge emphatic rush in the middle stretch that incites mania. Lyd will be available from all the usual digital stockists on 4th June 2018.

"Steve Mulder’s Orange Recordings has already released tunes from the likes of Tom Laws, Loco & Jam, Filterheadz, Gary Burrow and Tomy DeClerque, and this month welcomes one of London’s top live acts to the label, Saytek.

Coming alongside the return appearance of Irish techno star Mark Greene, Saytek puts in some excellent remix work for the title track on Mark’s Manipulate EP.

The release groups together four tracks, with the Manipulate, Majority and Le Pac originals sitting beside the remix. Running a premiere for the edit we’re greeted by an arena-filling techno production that lines up pacing percussion, massive kick drums and huge atmospherics.

Tiger Stripes follows up ‘Baby’ with a quintuplet of aces on Drumcode.

Death, taxes and Tiger Stripes crafting dancefloor weapons for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels. Not many things in life are certain, but we’ve always counted on Mikael Nordgren knocking it out of the park. Last year’s ‘Baby’ EP was a label highlight, while in March he released ‘Sneaking Hotdogs Into People’s Pocket’, which mined the spirit of ‘90s-drenched euphoria and was a standout on Truesoul. Now he’s back dropping heat on DC.

Taking the retro vibes of Hotdogs into more techno-orientated territory, he bunkered down with his family in the Swedish forest, setting up a makeshift studio in the kitchen. From this, the five-track ‘Into Desolation’ was born. Beginning with ‘Recluse’, it combines steely bass rumbles with old skool stabs and a heady vocal from Mikaela Rahmqvist. ‘Basshunter’ is propelled by galloping bass and a catchy undulating melodic loop and is brilliant in its effective simplicity. ‘Into The Early Night’ is a pearl, comprising deep compression-heavy bass stabs, perky percussion and a rousing vocal, making it a winner at festivals so far this summer, including Awakenings. ‘Ignition’ fires on all cylinders with a wicked arpeggiated hook and pounding drums. ‘Ride’ is a nostalgic nod to the past as trance-inspired chords marry deliciously with crunchy future-focused techno.
