Hi, my name is Zak Beal or known as ZakB, born and living in Milton Keynes. Growing up I’ve always liked house and dance music but my love for it grew stronger as I got older and experienced club speakers such as Studio 338 to Amnesia and Printworks. Going to these sort of venues drew me into liking techno, minimal techno and tech house. As I got deeper and deeper into these genres I started to find what I like to call ‘my sound’. From some of my favourite artists such as Toman, Chris Stussy, DJOKO, Anotr, Ben Rau and Wade. I would definitely say these artist inspire me to play underground grooves. As I got more into DJing, doing a couple sets for a local radio station Substance Socials, releasing a couple of mixes myself, I met a good friend of mine Sam Vanic who also has a strong love for Minimal and Techno. Playing together for almost 6 months we knew we clicked and sounded good together. Releasing a couple b2b on Sams soundcloud the people loved it. So we joined together and made DownTimeDJ.
